I would attribute Lee recovering more to how long it took for Kobe to set up his shot than anything.

My cousin made Rondo fall with Kobe online-- I didn't think defenders falling from gettin crossed was in 2K9. I've only seen it that one time and couldn't save it cuz he missed >_<

^ Yeah Kobe's release was slow but just look at Lee's (or West, whoever it actually is) feet. He glides across the lane while sorta taking a half a step, then can still get a hand up. It's bad on both ends but far worse from a defensive/recovery perspective. There's no way someone is stopping on a dime like Lee, changing directions and covering that much ground to get a hand up regardless of the speed of Kobe's release.

I understand what you are saying but the defend shot animation would have never triggered if the shot would have happened earlier.

It's all part of two things I've said they need to fix - the responsiveness of shooting (players need to square up to take their shot instead of blending into them and turning into the attempt) and the lack of foot planting by the defense.

Had Lee's animation to contest never triggered, at least that would've been a little more believable. But I certainly get what you're saying.

Yeah, they really need to implement an animation for players stepping into their shots. It would fix a lot more issues in addition to making the game prettier.

+1... if the shot was sooner then whomever wouldve never been close... that and momentum(weight) is non-existent in the game

I have my fingers crossed for 2k10.

There is one shooting animation where the player dribbles to the side and shoots (you can trigger it near the baseline)... it's absolutely terrible. Needs to go, and others like it can't even thought to be included next year.

If I can find a video, I'll post it. I hate the animation.

EDIT: Yeah chia, if momentum was in the shots, it would make a world of difference. Less blocked shots, more misses and lower shooting %'s, etc.
