Is this a glitch?

I was playing association with friends and they were complaining that i was glitching. Basically my friend has lebron and he always drives in and holds x, always dunking it. Rarely does yoa ming get a block on him. I was getting destroyed, i mean all he did was dunk and it was impossible to stop. But later during the game i found out, that when he goes for the dunk i can press x for strip and it will always knock the ball out of his hands. Is this a glitch or meant to happen? I prefer it stays, otherwise dunking is too easy..

I hated that steal animation, killed my fast break every time.

You've got to aim your layup attempt away from the defender so they can't get the strip.
