Any one else freeze and 3 red rings on 2K9 after update

I have been playing the crap out of 2K9 in anticipation of 2K10, but last night when I got home I got the Xbox Live update and then started playing 2K9 and the game froze and then restart only to have the 3 Red Rings. Has this happened to anyone else?

I did not experience that exact problem, but my system was having trouble reading my Madden disc after the update. It eventually started working correctly. What you just stated makes me want to leave 2k9 alone now. I just played it the night before.

I got the 3 rings four times, before I switched to PS3. Sucks man.

Sometime it happens but it has nothing to do with 2k9 ... it happened the same to me at the begining of the year, right after a huge 360 update ... and bang!, the system was dead with no chance of being repaired (wish it is by overheating and not by software error) ... and like Allen it was my forth with 2 360 consoles, so I had enough and bough a PS3, wich I got three days ago ... hope to have a better fate ...

the 3 red lights happend to my Elite last week. same as you the game and system kept freezing then 3 red lights. Luckily microsoft is reparing and shipping it for free cause if I had to buy a new system I was going to go with a PS3

looks like I am getting 2K10 for the PS3 this year. I just think the graphics look smoother on the 360, although I like the PS3's controller better. I like having the option though, but I dont want to wait any longer.

^that's new.. Ever heard that being possible... It has to do with the hardware being fried. Hardware fried = computer chip damaged = computer not function able.
