    ***Official My Player Progression Thread***

This is going to be my primary gameplay mode for awhile as I wait for some good draft classes to come out for Association.

That said, I know this is a popular mode for a lot of others here, and I'd be interested to hear people's stories about the position they play, where they get drafted, their MPG, stats, etc.

I just started over, and am going through the combine again (As I get better, and realize my playing style, I constantly want to start over, play differently, spend my points differently, etc. But this is definately going to be my last guy).

    I am a 6'8" 217 lbs. "Athletic" SF. OVR 41

In my first game I had 34 points, 7 rebounds, 3 assists, and 4 turnovers (I don't remember my blocks or steals). This is not the norm for me as my last guy averaged around 15-5-5. I am projected to go 2nd round, 7th pick to the Spurs after my first game.

For those who have finished the combine, what position do you play, what are you rated, what were your stats, and where are you projected to land when 2k10 drops?

I'd love to see some game play videos from this mode. It's the mode that makes me really want 2k10.

i'm doing a 6'10" athletic pf and maxing out his vertical in DC. i got to 98 vert last time but i'm going for 100. I find that vertical helps in the most areas of the game, you get better (higher) at rebounding, blocking, contesting, and dunking.

I don't think I could get to a 98 in anything! You all must either be really good, or know some kind of exploit to get points easily. Last game was my best one ever (the 34 point one) and I ended up with about 1800-1900 skill points. Barely enough to raise anything. substantially.

try it, i get like 1600/game and it's under 300/point until you get up to the 90's. i have 75 vert after the initial 100o pts and 6 drills (took silvers for the pts).

              I'm a 6'5 200lb "Athletic" PG. 42 ovr (post combine)

I was projected to be mid 2nd round pick. But I went round 1 pick 27 on draft day. But I guess that's what happens when you avg 34ppg and 12apg 3spg in the Combine.

Out the gate I used all 6 drills on improving my shooting. I played 3 summer league games so far. I started out coming off the bench. Now they start me the past 2 games .

Something that I like is while my natural position PG. My summer league Coach has given me looks at the Sg and SF . So I played the heat and I had to guard beasley he was killing me in the paint the coach realized that and put me back at Sg.

I have 3 more games to know if I get invited to camp. But if I'm a 1st round pick am I not guranteed a 3 year contract?

Anyway I'm currently Ovr 52 (midway through summer league.)

                Thanks for the tip, man!

BTW, how much do you get for taking a silver (and do you get more or less depending on the drill?)?

I'm doing gold in the dribble course to get my speed up (that's my "vertical", lol) as I am trying to be a Shawn Marion type 3 who can crash the boards and run the break (and of course I'm projected to go to the slowest offense in the league, where my talents are useless!).

Speed is super-expensive to upgrade (over 1000 a point!). So I'm wondering is it better to try for gold or silver.

That's crazy! Hopefully I can put ip numbers that gaudy, but I doubt it.

I'm glad to hear that you can play different positions (my old SF I saved over was projected to go to Cleveland, haha).

I'm also glad that the team you are projected to go to is not necessarily where you end up. What minute quarters are you playing on? And do you still get grades and the option to upgrade your player after every game? Do you still get to do drills, and if so how many? Thanks for the update man.

Man, I'm just not that good I think haha,

I created a 6'10 athletic PF, but he is a "bulky" PF in the style of Carlos Boozer. Only his offensive game is very limited at this point, basically limited to cleaning up the garbage underneath.

He's a rebounding machine though, and his defense has been solid thus far. I'm hoping once I get my hands on 2K10 to improve his offensive skills and maybe up his vertical and strength...make him a real bruiser. I don't need numbers, I just want to be causing problems on D and be a real force.

His overall is 43 (lol) but I love the kid! Oh and he has a mohawk.

Man usually I hate career modes, but this one is so fun. The off the ball stuff is more fun for me than when I have the rock!

you get like 150 or so, i do dribble course and wait at the line to get the silver because i usually get off ball handle if i get gold. you should try a new guy and do quickness instead of speed, you should be able to get it up to 100 for a guard. quickness helps alot in changing direction and going from standing to full sprint so it might help to max that first.

im playing the normal 5 min qts. Summer league is the exact same as the combine as far as upgrade i believe you to do the drills 6 times and have to play 6 games. Yes they still grade you during the game and have goal you want to achieve every game. The biggest difference I noticed so far between the draft combine and the summer league I'm currently in is the court size and the control over my player seems smoother.

Yeah, 150 is not alot. I think I'll get speed (which is over 1000 a point) in the drills, then pay for vertical and quickness (as they are much cheaper) with skill points earned in games. Then I can be an athletic freak with no skills (Stromile Swift). I would like to evolve into a hybrid of Shawn Marion (good at playing uptempo, finishing at the rim, crashing the boards, and playing off the ball) and Lamar Odom (a point forward who is a triple-double threat). Ultimately though, the gold standard is a LeBron James or in his prime Grant Hill type Small Forward who can do everything, but that is years away I'm sure.

I know there is a way to up the minutes BEFORE starting your career, but once you start, you're locked into whatever mpg you choose. Right now, I'm trying to figure out the best minutes for realistic stats for myself (not 40 ppg, 20 ast) and the team.

BTW, I realized that you are responsible on average for 58 ppg MINIMUM. That's crazy to me as I don't think my entire team usually averages more than 50.

This is my 4th 6'8 pf but I was trynna see if I could get more skills points this time around. My last 6'8 pf averaged 28 and 10 on 79% shooting and I earned over 15600 skills points with him. Thru out 5 games this guy is averaging 24 and 17 rbs On 63% shooting. I'm at 13,340 right now b4 this last game. Most of my points comes on put backs and fast break & I still have 4 more drills to go. My last guy had a 67 speed and that was made possible due to ball handling drills but I keep quiting when I don't get a speed increase. I hoping I can go to the bucks or the knicks or even charlotte, a place where a pf is needed
