MyPlayer Theory on when you get into the NBA

I was playing MyPlayer and suddenly my PG who wasn't even starting on my D-League team got called up to the Cavaliers (who really didn't need me at all).

I load up my first NBA game to see I have a little over 50000 SP accumulated and it made me think if the devs put this in to speed up the process a little.

Another thought is that at 65000 SP the computer starts you. Despite my overall being much lower than Mo Williams I load up a match and to my surprise, I see my name on the starting line-up. Sure enought I had a little more than 65000 Sp.

Anybody want to share their experiences if they remember how many SP they had when they got called up or want to let us know what their SP is when they do get called up?

So you're saying that you think that you progress in My Player mode based on how many skill points you have accumulated?

I see, makes sense. The better games you have the more Skill points you are rewarded. So I can understand 2ks logic in doing that if you are right. It would seem better though if your progress depended on you outplaying the guy above you though...

I haven't noticed but i'll be on the lookout if my guy gets called up from the Dleague soon.

Hrmm Interesting I'm at 38K and been doing decent in D-league with no call ups. I watch for the 50k mark.

Well I made it into the NBA without having 50k...right out of training camp...roughly 23K or so. So I think it's a bit different then that.

Ah, good point about Training Camp. I guess my theory just applies to if you get cut and have to go to D-League.

Are you starting in the NBA? If you're not let me see if you start starting at the 65k mark.

I am starting. Every other game and that happened at around...well I guess it was about 65-70K. I'm at 80+ K now and My first start was around my 12th NBA game.

If I went any bigger, it would not have properly fit with my equipment, so I had to optimize. I'm okay with it, but I also know what I'm missing with those five inches. :)

I just finished my second start and have just over 55000 points after gaining 2000 in that game. Also, in another one I had I was trading starts with carl landry so it wasn't like at whatever level I was at for my first start I became a constant starter.

I got called up tody with 35,000 points, 48 OVR PG. Then due to rotation issues I played 35 minutes for the Hornets including subbing Chris Paul out after 1 minute.

Question for you guys? How many minutes per game were ya'll playing in the summer league and in the D-League? I'm stuck on 5min per quarter...but I heard some people play 10 min quarters. If I had more minutes...I think I could be more productive and I wouldn't be stuck in the D-League.

i played 5 minute quarters because i forgot to change it and i still averaged 28 ppg in training camp. i also started 4 out of the 5 summer league games i played. i dont remember what i averaged for that though. i have yet to play in the d-league since i made the team and already played in my first game. adam morrison got cut ahead of me.

Your theory could still be right though, because anyone with that many skill points had to be playing ok to get that many.

And I absolutely **** on every opposing pg in training camp haha. I loved seeing guys get cut before a 50 rated player.

In the Bobcats training camp I was destroying every SF they had and I stayed likely cut until the last game. I even dropped 30 on bowen's head to his 0, and I still didn't make the roster. When I would look at the stats I was the best stat wise hand's down. I'm now on the Sioux Falls SkyForce for the last 10 games.
