I Can Officially Say Blacktop Is A Waste

What should we wish for to replaced nba blacktop, because this mode sucks

Dunk Contest

1. They took out jersey numbers out of the dunk contest
2. Intros for the dunk contest is stale
3.No added dunkers 4 the dunk contest (like how 2k9 add rose)
4. The same dunks from 2k8

3pt point shootout
1 I experience frame rate problems out of this world

Most Important 2k TOOK OUT TRICK DRIBBLES thats the point of the street games.
So, what should replaced this mode.

I'm glad they took out trick dribbles. Now I use Blacktop as a sort of training ground. Work on my on the ball Defense and isomotion.

And yes, I ran a Kobe vs Lebron 1 on 1 game.

I'm not sure I'd call it a waste, but you're right on every point you made. For some reason I can handle all the insane "between-the-legs from the free throw line over a car" dunks but the moment I see players without numbers on their jerseys, it suspends all belief. Go figure. I remember PS3 did not have jersey numbers a few years ago and now it's made its way over to the 360 as well. What gives?

I didn't check, but it's also a bummer if they truly did not add any dunkers (no Terrence Williams?) I always kind of hoped they'd open it up to any dunker with a 85+ rating (including created players) while also providing the opportunity to choose jerseys (ex. Dominique Wilkins looks entirely out of place in a "80's East" jersey or the new Hawks duds). And surely, no new dunks does stale up the mode a little bit.

The 3pt. Contest has always felt bland to me because every player wore generic shorts and a tank and there was no atmosphere behind it. I think it's time 2K bites the bullet and accepts the fact that they can have an authentic looking All-Star Weekend without everyone thinking they stole from NBA Live. If you're emulating real life, you're emulating real life.

And finally, I think the Blacktop could be a solid mode if provided with the small details that seem to ooze out of the regular game experience. It sounds fruity, but custom wardrobes (or at least realistically assorted wardrobes - i.e. not all black and grey, shirts untucked, etc) would liven this mode up a bit. Also, I liked when the trick moves were in there. They didn't replace regular moves, but you had the option of whether to take advantage of them or not; spiced things up a bit. And I wish the change of venue was still available. I'm not necessarily speaking of the Steel Mill (?!), but Run n' Gun, The Cage, etc were all solid and fun.

Those streetball moves are still in the game. I think you hold both triggers and push a face button to execute them.

I've opened the mode once...however, I think it's nice to have, just for the hell of it. It's not like they spend much dev time on it. So, with that being the case, I say keep it in...even though I don't really play it. Of course, this is only my take.
