I can't believe Gamespot has given NBA 2K10 a score less than Madden. That's nuts.

Yes, I would like to conclude that Gamespot sucks in reviewing sports games. Their Live 10 review was no good and now their 2k10 review was no good too. It sounded like he was just bashing 2k10 but he made it sound positive. Oh well, i wont make one guy ruin the game for me.

A 7 is probably too high. A game can have all the potential you want, when virtually nothing works correctly out of the box, its not even worth a review. I feel like I paid $60 to beta test 2K10 for them.

Once the patch arrives this game is going to be off the hook. They are fixing the framerate, and the association glitches and my player glitches...That to me is enough. Also I believe the servers will get better do to the fantastic publicity it's getting.

Madden to me is a turd.

Only reason it gets high scores because there is nothing to compare it with because EA decides to buy the exclusive rights. Madden is the #1 selling NFL game. They did it!

The Bad

• Too easy to get into the paint, eliminating most strategy
• My Player mode is plagued by frame rate issues and inconsistent grading
• Lots of little bugs.

Especially for point #1. No amount of sliders can fix that.

Then again your point about the fake, unrealistic "exciting" up-beat tempo being a good thing is a little disappointing.

Well this will make the constant complaining and griping crowd who bought 2k anyway and still constantly complain and gripe and bought the other game and like it but still constantly complain and gripe and won't make any adjustments but still constantly complain and gripe, who feel as though the game should be absolutely perfect out of the box, but still constantly complain and gripe, who worked for hours to change sliders in other games but won't do so for this one but still constantly complain and gripe feel justified. I wish they had one thread for the constant complaining and griping crowd like they did for the show or some other game so they could all go there and constantly complain and gripe till their hearts content.

This game is full of bugs/glitches and that's what the score reflects. "Yes" the game is fun but technically there are problems that NEED to be addressed.


Nba 2k9 was also released with problems & online was NEVER fixed. For a company that sold over 2 million copies last year you would think they would have spent many months ironing all bugs & glitches with this game.


I'm very disappointed with VC as the past couple of years their titles have lacked polish. Used to be one of my favorite developers....... Just goes to show you that 10-11 months is just NOT enough time to finish a game properly.


I'm honestly going to stay away from sports games now because of this and look towards rpgs, adventure,fps,action games where they have at least 2+ years to work on their games.


Uncharted 2 was just released & the level of polish in that game is amazing!

The other game doesn't force you to **** with sliders just to get realistic stats :P

How can anyone who knows basketball take this guy and his review seriously? I mean too contend that live 10 is more sim than 2k10 is just rubbish. 2k10 have no excuse for having the gameplay so bad out of the box but the sliders do mitigate that problem. That's why sliders are made in the first place.

Any ball game that has no post game is no sim. End of story. You get all these players claiming to be sim ballers and playing the 'realistic' live 10 with just a perimeter game? I tried live 10 and its fun initially but you realize after that it is still very shallow. If Live can get a post game going then next year will be very interesting. But I can't help but feel VC will step up next year as well.
