There is absolutely NO defense what so ever. It's pathetic. Players constantly leave their man for no reason, stars are still dropping +40 points a game no matter how well shots are contested, it's ridiculously easy to score and gain position in the paint, players cant can't back on D to save their lives in transition, player let rebounds and players blow by them and that's not even the half it. 2K had whole year to fix the problems they knew were in the game they fixed none of them.

I thought defense was non existent till I started playing more. For me the more I played the better my defense got.

yeah i stay away from online games unless it's with friends or people i know who play sim. even then, i only go with custom games and custom sliders so i hear you on your gripe.

Then just to rub it in VC disables the double team, doesnt give us matchup zones, and removes other zones.

I feel his pain. And it's not just on online games, it's My Player games too. You do all this defending and your teammates are getting scored on. And there are no contesting shots what so ever. Associations and Quick games are different because you can adjust sliders but those online and My Player games you have no control.

Well why didn't you make that clear from the get go. I hate this misleading threads. I'm not bashing you but it really helps to say whether it's offline or online, because that would stop a lot of the back and forth of "I see it" and I don't see it. Lesson Learned, please make that clear for the rest of us.

You played online?! Wow. Just kidding.

I agree with you that it's a chore to shut people down. The problem is that, as a video game, if 2K made a game where 30% of your passes are batted down or intercepted, you see a LOT of bitching about it. Trust me on that one. When I played online, people were picking Lakers, Lakers, Lakers. It's stupid. I refuse to play Laker players.

With that said, I've found that I had a lot of success against players that do that by playing offball and cutting off lanes. As soon as I see the pass and it's going to another man, I swap. You will get the defender of the catching player. At that point, I'm normally in good position to defend the catcher. It takes a few games, but you'll get the hang of it.

Another thing: if you play onball, play off your man and DARE him to shoot. You make it easier on the J's, but it's better than an layup. You can still contest the shot enough to make a difference. Just slow the game down and force your opponent to keep the ball.
