    IN-GAME INJURIES...

Can the lack of in-game injuries be addressed in this next patch? I'm sure they may have been toned down (made non-exsistent) for My Player mode so gamers wouldn't be frustrated at loosing their players to constant injuries or even season-ones. But it is important to have in-game injuries in Association. It takes away from the fun and challenge of managing a team if your players never get hurt unless you sim a game.

If nothing else PLEASE just fix the sliders so we can increase the likelihood of injuries.

I remember in 2K9 that I played my starting PG for almost the entire game to see how many points he could score. I made it to 56 pts. But with 2 mins. left in game he went down with a severely sprained ankle. It was a tough lesson to learn but after that I always took my starters out of the game when it was a blow out and they really didn't need to be in the game. I would always have to take care that they didn't play too many minutes to avoid injury. But in 2K10 the players almost never get injured. I never have to sub them out of a game because I know they can't get hurt. It takes most of the fun out of Association for me.

So PLEASE, PLEASE fix the durability slider in this next patch so that it works and injuries occur IN-GAME.

    Re: IN-GAME INJURIES...

I hammered Roger Mason on a fast break and he came up holding his tailbone... he wasn't out of the game but was "hurt" and had his abilities affected. It was the most realistic in-game injury I've seen -- I threw him down hard on his back and then he rolled over holding his tailbone... he took the 2 FTs he was due and got subbed out. That's the only one I've seen though -- granted, I've mostly been playing My Player instead of normal games, and I would expect that they're toned down there.

After the debacle that was 2K9 in-game injuries (everyone in leagues being hurt with separated shoulders or bruised tailbones, all from jumping to save a ball out of bounds), I don't mind that they're toned down a bit. But yeah, at least the injury/durability slider should work for those who want more injuries to happen in associations.

        Very onpoint.

I've got the durability slider at 0 and have seen one in-game injury to my team in over 50 played games. Ugh.

I wonder if perhaps it's backwards? I've yet to try it though...maybe I will tonight. Has anyone put durability at 100 and seen if that had any in-game effect?

How come when there's an injury, the commentators say nothing? I remember at least in the previous versions, they would talk about the injury as it occurred, but now, there's an awkward silence.

I've tried the durabilty on 0 and 100 and no injuries. I even lowered Michael Redd's individual durabilty slider to 0. Not a single injury.

I don't know if the injury commentary can be put back in with a patch, which is why I'm only asking that the slider be fixed at this point so that injuries will occur. If there's awkward silence after an injury I can live with that.

              Re: IN-GAME INJURIES...

I had three injuries in my association (29 game season plus 7 games per round playoff). Two to the CPU with bruised tailbones after hard fouls and one to my guy (Xavier Henry) with a twisted ankle. All three were just hurt and day to day. Henry lost about 8 or 9 point in his overall score, I didn't bother to look at the specifics of each category. It was noticable though the next game when I couldn't beat anyone off the dribble.

yes, i ahve only seen two in general, both to the opposition, both on hard fouls.

can anyone chime in on user controlled teams injuries they have seen?

durability slider is almost definitely backwards. i had it at 45 for about 25 games and saw 0 in game injuries. bumped it up to 55 and ive seen 3 or 4 in about 10 games. plus ive seen more simmed injuries, though thats probably a coincidence.

I've had one injury on my user controlled team, I was told after the game that a player had broken his hand. Strange thing is, he never played in the game. Zero minutes. Yet still got injured. ????

Yeah, you were going the wrong way my friend

I remember someone carried out a study in 2k9 or 8 and suggested, realistically, that the injury slider should be at 90 for the same number of injuries to occur in an 82 game season as in real life.
Personally i increase the injury slider to around 85, injury severity about 55. So this way injuries are consistent enough to keep the CPU changing rotations and affects games on a daily basis.

So you two can confirm that the durability slider from 50-100 increases your chance of injury? Even though one would suspect a durability of 0 (zero) to be defined as no durability, the slider actually set at zero = the most durability. ?

                        Interesting.

i only see the injury severity slider, wheres the regular injury slider?
all i see is injuries ON or OFF

edit: or is that the durability slider?

Yes, the durability slide is the regular injury/injury frequency slider.

and JBH3 the durability slider is backwards, yet again, so yes i can confirm that. This also explains while Gilbert Areanas has played more than half a season in your wiz chise.

You need to tell your benchwarmers to be a little less enthusiastic in cheering on their teammates. Did that ever happen to Jack Haley or Mark Madden?
