it was Michael Jordan's staple. Not Kobe's. I've never even noticed Kobe doing it. Not as often as MJ.
I think if it was something Kobe was known for, it would have a chance. But, I doubt many people see someone wagging their tongue and thing "Trying to be like Kobe, I see."
Come on guys, seriously, you know Kobe mimics Jordan and if you watch replays of him driving and finishing he almost always does tongue wagging.
It shows emotion and fierceness, at least let us have it so when we create Jordan it's more authentic!
I believe MJ has a copyright on any tongue-stickout activity in video game hoops. It is a quirk internationally ID'd with him and it can be seen as a way to emulate his persona with out his consent.
EA and 2k have the unfortunate task of trying to balance on a tightrope of fun and sim while trying not to fall 10,000 feet to their death. Instead of a safety net waiting down below there will just be angry customers quick to move out of the way and talk of their failure.
