Seriously... How do you block shots?
I even have the block slider set to 100... and am only averaging 1.5 blocks per game as a team. I just can't seem to get them at all.

I've found that it's best to block without holding turbo, believe it or not.
If your coming from behind, use turbo obviously but let it go when you're going to block.
Noah is leading the league with 4.2 blocks per game in my Assoc. and Tyrus Thomas is 5th with 3.1.Comment

I find it ridiculously easy to block shots when someone posts up on you. Usually they do a fake to one way and when they turn back around, jump and you should be able to block itComment

I suppose I am also finding it easy to block shots. Although - I am playing with the Rockets and using Yao. He is avg 4.2 blocks per for me so far in Assoc. But I also get swats with Landry, Scola and Anderson on the regular.Truly Blessed -Comment

Like in real life, blocking a jumpshooter that is close to you in height isn't easy to time. Blocking in the post and on help is pretty easy. Wait until the offensive player commits to a layup, and use a good shotblocker to run over and help. Also, if you get body contact on a player attempting a layup, that's a great opportunity to get a block with a help defender.Comment

I don't really get blocks either but then again, I never switch men on defense.....My slider is set to 100 also......I may get a block if I happen to be controlling the big man, but overall, its pretty hard......Comment

I think the biggest mistake people make is only paying attention to when they hit the block button, not when they release it. It's like a jumpshot. You release at the top of your jump to shoot more accurately, right? With blocks, you can tap the block button quickly if you're behind the shooters animation. You can hold it and release at the top of your jump if you guys are going up at the same time. Or you can hold turbo and tap it if you're nearly closed out on a shooter for a quick yet high block. And last but not least, you can hold turbo, and block, and get way up there to block dunks and other types of shots where you need to sky to make it in time. I've kinda dissected it as you can tell.
Right now i have a few franchises going on, but as an example in my Raptors chise Andrea Bargnani is averaging 4 blocks per game, and he's an awful shot blocker without someone controlling him. And Chris Bosh who also isn't great by any stretch is averaging 2.9 per game. As a team the Raps are averaging 10.8bpg.
There's a different block and release point for each shot. It just takes time and practice, and most importantly patience to learn which button to hit and for how long for each shot type. But it's worth it.
Hope that helps some people.Comment

Thats sounds like some good advice, i may have to lab this to see if it works like you explain it....I kno 2k has a bunch of hidden stuff that you have to learn on your own. But once you figure out how to trigger certain animations then thats when everything opens up. I have seen different kinda contests but didnt know exactly how im doing them. Thanks for the insight though, I will try this out cus i think my blocking is good but it can always get better
