    Low scoring games

Ok so last year i was able to score 115-120 pts. in a game pretty regularly in NBA 2k9, using 7 min. quarters on "pro" difficulty...but this year i have only scored 100 points one time in 25 games, using pretty much the same exact settings as in nba 2k9, and last year my team shot 52% for the season, and right now in nba 2k10 season my team is at 57%....i just don't get what happened to this game, to score high point games i would have to fast break the entire game, it's jsut something i've noticed and it kinda annoys me...sometimes i will be shooting 1-10 to start the game, last year i could score over 30 pts in a quarter sometimes, this year i'm lucky to score 20...and i have player speed at 75% even!!!
so what happened to the high scoring, is it the fact that getting a offensive rebound is impossible? or maybe th fact that EVERY time i get fouled my shot doesn't go in, and they used to more in 09?

well it isn't very common for NBA games to constantly hit 120 ppg, and it is pretty average for games to be in the 90 ppg range. If you want to score more, just bump up the quarter length

Uhh, maybe it's because you're not supposed to score so many points in such a short time span? As arcadish as it can be at times, this game is still trying to be somewhat of a sim.

Technically u should be lucky to get 60 pts in a 28 min game. Either bump the mins or push the sliders offensivley

I think you're asking a lot for a 7 minute game. Teams rarely put up 120 points. You should at least play 8 minute quarters.

I'm like u in the sense that I play 7 min quarters and I noticed this as well. I didn't score 100 regularly last year, but I would hit the 80-90 score range with ease, while occasionally going over 100 if I'm having a great game. This year, I might get 70+ at the most on 7 min quarters.

One thing I did do last year was bump up the fouls to enable more FTs. This year, I'm pretty satisfied with default sliders, so I rather the gameplay be good rather than be concerned with realistic stats in a 7 min game.

9 minute quarters work wonder for me in my association.

Wait you play 7 min quarters and you want 100 point games?

I play 12 minute quarters and average 98 ppg.

what changed from 2k9? Game speed.
2k10 is much more slower at default settings, so you have less FGA.

YES that's it NBA 2k9 just felt so much smoother and faster while playing, now after playing a game in 2k9 the other day, 2k10 feels REALLY sluggish....i don't understand them trying to make it more SIM like. I think the gameplay sucks this year, if i wanted more of a sim i would just run plays (and adjust the other teams run play slider) and take my time w/ the ball, and adjust the offense sliders where i would shoot in the 45-50% fg range. There's no need to just make the game slow, I just don't have time in my day to play 12 min. quarters for an 82 game season, i just would like to have as close to real stats w/ 7 min. quarters, even though i know that sounds crazy... but the fact is in 2k9 i was able to do that to my liking, and this year it's impossible....

Try not shooting the ball within the first 6 seconds of the shot clock everytime down the court and play some D and you will see results like this. If you are getting 100+ points in 7 min quarters then all you must be doing is fast break all the time. Slow the tempo down, run some plays, play some tight man D when the CPU has the ball and you will see some good results.

No that's not what I was thinking about, I play 12 minutes quarter with Green_Flash03 sliders and I'm getting over 100 point every game...
