    Playstation Move/Kinect

So according to Pasta's site, this year's game will feature Playstation Move as a control option (no official word on the 360 counterpart just yet, but probable).

Where do you think the feature will be incorporated? I am guessing maybe on free throws? How do you guys feel about this and in future titles? Ready to move around and burn some or happy sipping a cold one on the couch?

i think it would be tough to incorporate much more than free throw shooting onto a sim basketball title at this point. baseball on the other hand i could see a lot of possibilities.

one great use for kinect though would be to add unique signature shooting styles for your created player in my player mode.

There is absolutely no way to incorporate all the control intricacies to make it fully work with Move and Kinect. Regular controller is the way to go and for the future.

Move looks stupid. making basketball motions while holding a remote is just weird. i can't see myself buying it (at least not for a bball game).

Kinect might be semi-cool though if it's responsive enough. i wouldn't mind taking jumpers in practice mode with it or doing the 3pt shootout. i doubt i'd use it in 5-on-5 though

kinnect has the advantage in implications into nba 2k11....hear me out!
it can be used to determine reactions from user to determine features of real basketball

          i.e
          1. u and ur buddy playing a versus game on the same couch with the kinnect camara focus on each user as user 1 & 2 and user 1(you) went up for a block attempt u got ball but the game called it a foul maybe for too much body contact...ur reaction in real life can determine the reaction of the player that just picked up the foul.if u flare up and over react ur character does the same....voila u get a T by the game......talk about adding emotions to a game
          2. how about this... hand gesture(like how point guards do it real life) to call for quick plays on offense and/or defence.
          3. user control celibrations after big shots and made shots by reaction the kinnect picks up from user 1 reactions.made game winning basket/or missed big shots or game winning missed shots
          4. user 2 shooting free throws and use 1 is at home court he can gesture for the crowd to start making noise for distractions to shooter
          5. user 1 or 2 whoever is at home court games can do hand gesture to rally the crowd to go wild to motivate the team on defence or for momentum via JASON 'the jet' TERRY style

yess!!! i was thinking the same thing when i heard about kinect...how cool would that be, you do your own shot, and it's in the game!!! or show a video or something of a real player (eg CP3) and his shot gets inserted into the game...

you could also do your own FT routine, dribble move, or a dunk and put that into the game...

i know this won't be in 2k11 (probably), but it'd be cool for 2k12...
i just dont think it would work with MOVE tho

cool ideas, but it sounds like a lot of work for 2K. maybe some other company will step up and make a purely kinect basketball game

yea but am not talking about losing the controller all together i still think that basketball needs to be played with a controller but assisted with the kinnect i mean to advance the experience.and by calling plays on offense i mean like simple hand gesture like 1 finger to call isomotion 2 fingers for quick post up and so on.....to to be honest we never saw a technical foul being called on palyer in a basketball video game to this day for over reaction(cause we all know rahseed wallace never foul any body to this day...lol so he got the most techs season to season arguing calls)
and lest be honest if we let such techs be computer determinations it would not work out we would fuss about it butif u were the culprit u got one then that is gonna b fun)imagine rashhed getting tossed for getting 2 techs in one game and the cpu AI had nothing t do with it but all user based

We havent seen technicals not only because it is not propper to inflict intentional damage to a competitor ... but also because there is no room in the NBA for either disrespecting the crowd nor the officials, also, there isnt room for judgiing or appreciating on the work of such officials ... if you are part of the league, and in the videogame you would undoubtly became part of it, you just cant.

Its part of the real life game indeed, but not one feature that we will "ever" see in the future.

Thus I do like the other examples.

if kinect was making a basketball game it should not be nba it should be created ballers due to signature releases and all that jazz

first up let me just say that i play basketball professionally as a shooting guard.i would never promote disrespecting the crowds and refs.Refs r human and they do make mistakes and miss calls and as a player we all do then to flare up sometimes about calls just that some more than others.trust me if ur a competitor u will.even kobe gets techs for over reacting(the best player in the world IMO).even the gentle giant as tim duncan flares up at some calls.this is sports and they will always be a need for a check and balance in basketball for controlling the emotions in players and we all know that 2 gets u ejected.y not in a sim video game for realism?

hahahahahahah!!!!!! if by "some calls" you mean every call that goes against him then yeah, even duncan flares up lol <--- TD after every call.

on a serious note you got some good ideas. the best and most likely to happen is play calling, i completely overlooked that when i brainstormed ideas for kinect.

as for technicals, there would have to be a specific amount of gestures programmed for the kinect to recognize as technical worthy other wise i can assume you could get techs for any number of random movements. and if there are 5 specific movements that will get you tee'd up how spontaneous would it really be? you would have to get upset then deliberately get a tech which wouldnt be smart if you were trying to win.

i remember reading a few years back that david stern disallowed game makers from adding technicals to nba games because it glorifies/promotes poor sportsmanship or portray the leagues stars in a negative light. i personally think it would add a nice touch of realism and would be funny as hell to see sheed freak out, get tossed and belly ache all the way to the locker room.

If they can make the game work running on a treadmill...maybe it'll work for basketball.

2k failed big time with the wii motion controls. So expectations are below zero for move/kinect.Last year i did some suggestions about motion controls and how must be done but i guess it's just too complex for the 2k team.
