I just hope they have dynamic crowd attendance based on the teams record. And have the crowd react to the on court action be more authentic. Many times when a clutch rebound is made or steal, the crowd just remains quiet.
It doesn't have to be a straight lift from NBC. You can't argue that there wasn't a specific style to the 80's and then 90's overlays and scoreboard. As long as it captures the essence of that, the Jordan Challenge will all that more immersive. Seeing that ultra slick 2K scoreboard over an 86-87 game will be slightly awkward.
Honestly, one of the weakest parts of the presentation that breaks me out of the feeling that I'm watching a real game is when they show the coaches. Please 2K put more work into them. How can they have the players looking photorealistic, but when they pan to the coaches they look like a Chinese knockoff of Walt Disney World's animatronic Hall of the the Presidents? They're simply plain creepy. This is one area where Live completely destroyed 2K.
Don't make the young Phil Jackson look like a zombie wax figure.
