NBA 2K11: New Alley-Oop Controls, Jordan Challenge=8 Mins and NBA-Approved Hard Fouls

ESPN Videogames' Jon Robinson, has posted some more NBA 2K11 information. Including new alley-oop controls, the Jordan Challenge set at 8 minutes and NBA approved hard fouls.

"Alley-oop controls changed to LT+B this year (was LT+A) to help avoid accidental tosses while running with turbo and simply trying to pass.

Jordan Challenge quarter length is 8 minutes.

Classic teams are all available to play as in Exhibition games right out of the box. You don't need to beat them in Jordan Challenge in order to play as them.

There are NBA-approved hard fouls in the game. No fighting, but players will get dragged down as the defender tries to prevent you from getting your shot off."

Re: Some new info on Jordan Challenge (Espn videogames)

I am actually more (or equally pumped about) playing as 'Nique. I cannot wait to mess around with some of these old school squads!
With all the talk about Michael, don't forget about Dominique Wilkins being in the game. The Human Highlight Film is a player meant for video games, and in "2K11" some of the dunks he throws down are just sick.
    Truly Blessed -

      Thanks for posting, nice info.

I thought this mode would be 12-minute quarters. To score 63 points in a 8-minute quarter game will be a cheeser's dream. And what about 69 points?

Eight minutes will certainly add to the challenge. I am personally cool with that number because my games usually hover around the 8 or 9 minute quarter mark. It's going to take spectacular performances to make this thing happen.

With 8 min quarters I may not even touch this mode..imo taking away the ability to play a full game limits the mode alot.

For what it's worth, the author of that article may have just been saying that is the default setting for the Jordan Challenge. He did not venture to say whether the time could be altered or not.

Regardless, I'm still down with this mode to the tenth power.
