    Melo & Nets

Do u think the Nets will be a force to be reckoned with in NBA 2K11 IF they acquire Carmelo Anthony. Would this possible trade change who you are going to use on the game. Do you think 2K will have an update before the game even comes out available for download if this transaction happens before Oct. 5. I know im getting it early and would like to play with Melo and The Nets ASAP.

PG situation would be a bit suspect after losing Harris. Nothing a good dip into the FA pool can't solve though. I think with Melo and Lopez on the same team, playing in the East, anything can happen.

I know one thing: it helps weaken a division rival for my Blazers. Also weaken Utah too. I'm hoping for this trade to go through, though I would like to somehow see the Blazers get into this deal and get D. Harris.

They'll be close. I think they'll be much better in real life then in the game though. Need one more piece (like CP3) to really blow things up.

I don't know about the Nets, but I do know about the Bulls. With the failed opportunities to land both LeBron and Melo, this off season has been a disaster for the Bulls.

They balked at allowing LeBron's posse to fly on the team plane, they balked at trading a hustle center and possible star in Noah for a proven superstar in Melo. And they balked while they have a guy, Boozer, who can take over on the boards with Noah's loss.

This has to be one of the worst off seasons for any team in NBA history.

Heck no. I may be exaggerating a little but most of the nuggets team from billups on is way better then the nets team he is going to but they could never get over the hump. Lopez will help but he an melo or both big men the only difference melo has an outside game. They are going to need someone who can bring the ball down court and run the point well. Once they get that then they will be a force to reckon with

Im a big Jazz fan - and I disagree. I prefer Denver with Melo for next couple of years, than a Nuggets with Favors and several probably 1st round draft picks Anyway, I dont think this is good decision for Jazz. AK 47 for Diaw? cmon...

Umm they've got a better team without Melo and Lebron.

I'm excited about Melo coming to the Nets, but it's still possible we'd be out of the playoffs IRL.

                        In game, we'd be solid.

IRL and in game, we need a better starting point guard, better defenders, and some backup big men. Too bad the 8 draft picks the Nets have IRL is not reflected in the game.

                          Re: Melo & Nets

First off i really don't think this trade is going to happen. The Nets have evrything in place with the other 3 teams to pull it off, but its all contingent on one thing; Melo has to agree to sign an extention with the Nets as part of the agreement, just like KG did with Boston.

In order to get Melo, the Nets have to give up Devin Harris. That basically means the best players on the team would be Melo and Lopez. Ahem...WHY WOULD HE WANT THAT FOR MORE THAN A YEAR?

And Yes, the owner of the Nets has expressed he's willing to spend whatever money needed to get players. Problem is that you can't pay players who don't want to come play for you. Guys aren't exactly lining up to play for the team that finished with worst record last year and second worst record in LEAGUE HISTORY

And about the Chicago situation. If I where a GM, I would have pulled the trigger on the trade for Noah to get Melo without hesitation. But thats probably why im not a GM (along with like a thousand other reasons). I understand why they didn't do it. Melo is a superstar because he's a great SCORER who can go and get his whenever he wants. Problem is, he sucks at defense and he's not much of a rebounder either. And you're mistaken if you think Boozer can provide the rebounding, defense, and shot blocking Noah provides (let alone energy). Boozer was brought in to be a low post scorer, NOT defender. That has never been a strength of his. And as we all know, Offense wins games...Defense wins Championships. The Bulls will be a real threat this year. Just watch. Now if the can get Melo AND keep Noah...make that ish happen

I definitely won't be using the Nuggets who have been my team for five years. It will be a sad day.

Whether I use the Grizzles, Hornets, Nets or some other team remains to be seen.

I used the Nets consistently last year because unlike in real life, they were a decent team on NBA 2K10. I don't see the addition of Carmelo Anthony propelling the Nets to a 90+ rated team though. Like others have stated, we take a huge hit at the point guard position which doesn't translate well for video game purposes. I signed up for an online league last week and the Nets will be my assigned team. I will use them whether the trade goes through or not because I'm a fan of the team.
