I haven't gotten the time to go out and reserve it (yeah I know strange), but I'm wondering if there is still a good chance of getting it on release date. Who else hasn't reserved it yet?

I'm in Chicago as well...and I didn't reserve it. Every year I've been able to find it though (even though I would get it first thing in the morning...lol). This year I'm worried because it's the only bball game out plus the Jordan factor.

I tried to preorder it from FYE the other day, and they said they only do pre-orders 2 weeks prior to release. The guy told me to make sure I get there early

I didn't bother reserving it. The pre-order bonus from GameStop wasn't good enough for me to waste my time. And I've never had a game sell out on me on release day. God bless living in a smallish city.

Dude thats my plan too, I'm leaving extra early and hitting up gamestop when the doors open. However, I think Walmart will be doing a midnight release this year, so there is a good chance you can walk in and pick it up at midnight. That's plan A.

One because im trying to get it early and two there is a gamestop and a walmart by me i can go into and it wont be sold out. My gamestop isnt even doing a midnight release for it

So if I dont get it early im just going to have my cousin who works night shift and gets off one in the morning get it for me and drop it off on the way home. So basically i get kinda of a midnight release without leaving home

I just put in a preorder at Gamestop today actually. Walked into my Gamestop since it is right next to the Subway I nabbed dinner at. They said they are doing a midnight release for the first time with 2k since it's selling like crazy (MJ in Chicago... you do the math). I put 5 on it to ensure I could get it Monday night and get the Jordan Jersey avatar item. If you plan on buying it at Gamestop anyway, I'd suggest doing it. I'm going to go through my old games, go back trade some in, and pay the rest off, so I don't have to check out Monday night and can just scoop up the game.

You still have to check out, you just don't have to give them any money. They don't just crack open a box and start handing them out to everyone. Lines form by the register and there's still register work to be done.

Just thought you should know what to expect.

I know. I've gone to midnight's for Madden in the past. It's one less thing I have to do though (especially since plan on trading some games in). Good looking out though.

I'm not preordering until online insight where they address if they fixed it for both ps3 and xbox because i believe lag was worst on ps3. If not i'll wait for release and see for myself at a friends place. Hopeful the Sunday insight is online and explain if its fixed or not and Why.

I don't pre-order sports games. The only reason I preordered the limited edition last year was because I didn't want to walk around a mall carrying a locker.

Have u guys ever heard of Wal Mart? It's an awesome place, u can go there at any time of the night (in most locations) And they will have 2k11 at midnight on Monday. That's what I always do. Also, not sure if some of you are aware....but when a Gamestop employee tells you that "You better hurry up and order, this thing is about to sellout... and were about to turn off the presells, you might not get it", It's all a load of BS. I was a manager at Gamestop, It is a selling tactic. As long as a game is a big seller, ie= Halo's, Madden, Nba 2k11, final fantasy, any big name games, are always in stock. Ok, just thought i'd vent.... Sorry

You may as well wait a couple of weeks. The servers will get absolutely hammered on the first few days - regardless of the work they may have put in. Happens for pretty much every launch for most games. MW2 was crazy.
