Rebounding broken?

So I just got the game today and I've played a couple of long games. I like it so far but the rebounding is pretty awful. I just got outrebounded by the Detroit Pistons 47-33 (I was controlling the Bulls, the best rebounding team in the league last year). Boxing out doesn't exist except during free throws. I sincerely hope this can be fixed with a patch. Any of you notice the same thing?

Which team had a higher FG%? Better defense = more rebound opportunities.

Keep playing past a day. Give it more time, I have atleast 40-50 games under my belt.

My rebounding numbers have been pretty even with the sixers against the heat and the nets.

Just because the Bulls were the best rebounding team doesn't mean they will outrebound the other team in every single game.

You were the Bulls. You may have been missing many shots, which gave more defensive rebounding opportunities for the Pistons.

2K devs already said it was an issue with animations. Doubtful a patch can fix it. I hate the rebounding of 2K11 (bigs flying like Vince Carter in his prime), but too many other positives for me to make a big fuzz over it. I just hope the jumping (along with the lateral movement, running, and dribbling animations) of the bigs will be addressed next year.

I had the higher fg%, actually. They got 11 offensive rebounds to my 5, I think. I've been outrebounded in both games I've played but it's not really the numbers as much as it is the way in which the opposing team got the rebounds. It happened in my first game as well. Carlos Boozer or Joakim Noah, instead of boxing out, stood underneath the basket while waiting for the rebound. Consequently, the player behind him was able to leap above Boozer/Noah and grab the rebound. It almost could be called an over-the-back except no boxing out occured. This happened many times. Are you guys actually witnessing any box outs? I'm not.

Just out rebounded the Spurs with the Suns Like 49-41 in 12 min quarters, and I lost by like 10 and shot about 36%. Rebounding as far as numbers are fine. Some of the animations are a little funky but its alright.

Just out rebounded the Spurs with the Suns Like 49-41 in 12 min quarters, and I lost by like 10 and shot about 36%. Rebounding as far as numbers are fine. Some of the animations are a little funky but its alright.

Well, I'll keep playing to determine whether my first impression is right. I probably shouldn't have mentioned any stats because that's not even the point.

Yeah, I usually try to switch after the shot (I play on-ball defense), but it rarely gives me control of the man who should be in position for the rebound. And if it does, it's pretty late.

Oh you meant the animations..yeah they are pretty funky, bigs jump waaay to high and sometimes snatch boards they have no business getting. Boxing out is a little weird too but it works out for me.

I think it's a height issue. Because Carlos Boozer, who is relatively short for a big man, doesn't get good position in this game like he would in real life, he gets outrebounded by bigger guys who aren't known for their rebounding ability. Noah doesn't have as much of a problem. But yeah, this is definitely an issue.

i'm not having rebounding issues, aside from the fact that the bigs were jumping too high sometimes, until i moved the vertical slider at 5 and was somewhat effective on decreasing those weird jumping bigmen... i'm playing the heat versus at least 7 teams now and i can outrebound the cpu sometimes and it outrebounded me couple of times as well... if i'm shooting horribly, cpu would automatically outrebound me, unless my off rebounding is effective... like one post earlier said, better fg shooting = less rebounds for the opponent...
