Bought the game for the 360 and PC, where are the player reflections on the floors?

The graphics look great; 2k got the arena lighting perfect in all the stadiums which I imagine is pretty tough to do but...

I play as the rockets and the lighting, players and jersey looks crystal but I could not see any player reflections on the floor in Toyota Center so I Tried Stables Center and using replay and I can barely, I mean barely see player reflections in the paint area.

So i figured I would buy it on the PC considering I have 2 GTX 480's in SLI; well, I cranked everything to max at 1920x1200 and am getting around 138 fps and noticed some differences; of course the crowd, players and arenas all look better; gameplay is the same, menu looks like last year but come on...

Same thing, no player reflections on the court, I go into replay even over painted areas where you should be able to notice some sorta shoe reflection, I even let the basket ball hit the floor upon replay and still no reflections, only shadows.

I see reflections from the stadium on the floor but I think they took out reflections for the players to make the online gameplay smoother?

No raytracing on the players at all that I can see; perhaps its in some stadiums etc.

One cool thing that I did notice on the pc version was the noise filter during the Jordan arrival game against Boston, the colors were also desaturated to make it look like a classic game and you could easily see the first Jordan shoes; all the shoes are easier to spot; did not notice the noise filter on the 360 in 1080p upscale though.

Anyways, anyone care to comment on if they have seen raytracing reflections from the players on the floor?

Were there ever supposed to be player reflection? Who cares? You can't see player reflections on the floor when watching a game.

Yeah, they had player reflections on the game last year; it makes the floor look shiny if you get my point?

if i sound like a troll, flamer or anything of that nature, sorry but im just trying to state facts. that is a fail of a post to be honest. you quoted the one close up picture and tried to void his comment despite the close-up game shots not having any reflections /= and on top of that, he posted a far out/broadcast shot of a real nba game where there is player reflections on the floor, most clearly seen under sjax. he's not trying to find a flaw where there isn't, because there is a flaw there. i really don't care about the reflections on the floor, but it just seemed like you were looking into his situation enough.

No need for sarcasm man; Player reflections should obviously be there to add to the already great realism. My question is why did they not add raytracing for the player models. I am watching the Rockets right now on a non high def channel and you can clearly see the player reflections all over the court from broadcast view.

Imagine a hockey game with no player reflections, NBA courts are not ice but are are very glossy and pick up player reflections period.

By no means does this break the game but there must be a reason why they left it out. Perhaps consoles are starting to show their age and can not handle the extra raytracing effects and 2k had to make a choice; stadium or player raytracing and it looks like they chose stadium.

I am not sure we will see player shadow raytracing reflections until next gen; tho player shadows are pretty advanced. Mixing player raytracing with those shadows would prob hinder the games performance big time.

Excuse me, 2k. But I don't see any spilled popcorn on the floor of the stands.

                      2k what's going on?

i'm pretty sure there's no ray-tracing going on in todays console or pc games, save for the quake 4 ray-tracing project. i would assume all of the floor reflections in 2k11 would be implemented via shaders. ray-tracing would far too expensive, both from a fiscal and performance standpoint, and likely wouldn't even work without 2 or 3 consoles running in conjunction.

I am pretty sure ray tracing is only for DX11 so that would have been wasting time on a feature since almost nobody would have. They could have spent that same time fixing all the glitches that don't let you play the game
