Are sliders really needed this year??

So I've been playing with Simulation Sliders for the past week and I've been met with a lot of frustration. Missing wide open shots, horrible passing, having much slower defenders stick you like glue. Then I tried Default sliders and had a much enjoyable time while still having the game play sim. It seems to me that 2k improved the game so much that the game plays great without sliders (except penalty sliders of course). The defense is already there without having to handicap the offense. Anyone else agree?

I have not changed the sliders at all, I think the game is good how it is.

Default is too arcade for me.

      I play 12 min Simulation HOF w/ 48 3pt success.

        I think they still are.

On sim all star 12 minute quarters the scores are too low. Everything else is acceptable though.

yeah it needs sliders if you want to use simulation as your base..

yes, I try to play real as possible. They need sliders, I don't exploit and I run plays. I strategize to the upmost. The offensive rebounding ability of the CPU is ridicolous(?). It's needs to be adjusted. They get way to many of them.

Little tweaks here and there but it is not like in the past where one had to set custom sliders off of someone else to get a sim feeling.

I only use slight tweaks to the sliders on user and cpu shooting, on ball defense down 5, hands down 5, play passing lanes down 10.

I really don't think sliders are needed. I play on Pro Default 5 minute quarters and I'm getting stats that are more often than not slightly less than half the average stats per game. As they should be due to the playing time. I haven't tried 12 minute quarters yet this year with Pro Default settings but maybe someone has and would like to post stats?

It seems the majority of folks feel the sliders are only needed for the reasons they SHOULD be needed: slight adjustments to personal play styles. Not to cover up glaring holes. Am I reading this correctly for many people?

That seems a pretty accurate assessment. I've tweaked sliders a bit, but it is mostly personal. In some cases to nerf myself, in others to calm the a.i. a bit.

SIM sliders/settings is all we need for the most part.

Yep, unless someone just doesn't like the core gameplay of this game, I don't see how any offline player can't easily find a nice personally created set to play on with just a little fine tuning.

Do this today: Instead of $%*#!@& on a game you're not going to play or movie you're not going to watch, say something good about a piece of media you're excited about.

Do the same thing tomorrow. And the next. Now do it forever.

For the most part, not many changes are needed for me. But for Pro/Default, FG% was too high for user and CPU. For Pro/Simulation, too many shots were missed IMO; wide open ones especially. For All Star/Default, I couldn't stop the CPU at all; they'd go on crazy runs regardless of what team it was.

So I went with Pro/Simulation and made adjustments for the shooting and I'm getting competitive games with results that I'm satisfied with

                              Got it in one.

I personally think that's the main aim of sliders, as opposed to older iterations where it was a game unto itself trying to adjust them to get worthwhile results.
