Post game too efective this year?

Postoffense was useless in 2k10, except of the spin who was money every time, so its nice to see a little more balacne in 2k11s postup game.

sadly I think its overdone. The fadeaway is a 80% bucket with good players (gosh, I could score 40 alone with KG and his post fadeaway), even more or less scrubs seem to have da good 60% chance of making postshots. I can ABUSE most players with Ilgauskas, hitting hooks and fades from the post. Even if you double in the post its seemingly even more easy to score, simply shoot. And this is on allstar/sim.

As I said, the post game is so much better than in 2k10, but its a tad too efective.

So, is there any way to tone this a bit down?

never seen a post-offense/shot slider...did I miss something? Sure the individual players have Postoffense/Shot ratings, but man no way im going to edit every freakn player.

So you want 2K to edit them and effect everyone else who may not think the post game is too effective because you won't take the time to?

KG is really good. He CAN score 40 on any given night if he was allowed to take all the shots he wanted. (it would be dumb for a coach to do that with Pierce, Rondo and Allen on the team though.

Spencer Hawes can't score 40 in the post. Ever.

          Sounds about right to me.

          This forum is amazing.

Every day I get up, I read all these new posts about a broken this, or a something too effective... SMH if you just went off forum posts, You would think this game sucks.

Re: Post game too efective this year?

Man, why must every thread in this forum turn this way? Sometimes I think im a magnet for ******s or what...gosh.
Im playing an allstar/sim and can put up freakin 30 ponts with Z every game if its not against Ming or Howard. He hits 70% of his hooks when in a half decent post position. I can score 40 with garnett, (and man if u really think KG could score 40 every night you must missed the last three seasons because thats total bs), if that isnt a bit off for you guys I really dont know what kind of game u like to play, that may be a lot of thing but ot realistic.

Maybe u guys should take some things a bit more serious and TRY to abuse the post with Z, Ming, of what whoever, exept to simply sit here and assume im wrong. At least try it out and make use of reason (not the guy who thinks KG can score 40ppg, hes hopeless anyway).

PS: nobody is saying this game sucks, reading the FULL post is a good thing sometimes.

                Calm down everyone.

As suggested, if you feel the post is too effective for you, raise the difficulty or lower your sliders for inside scoring. There's not much anyone can offer to make you worse at the game.

                  This forum is amazing.

Every day I get up, I read all these new posts about a broken this, or a something too effective... SMH if you just went off forum posts, You would think this game sucks.

                  Exactly lol!!

I agree with you. I didn't read anything in your post that suggested the game was broke.

Post scoring is a little too efficient in my opinion as well, and it doesn't matter the defender (elite or not). But, I also agree with the others in saying I'm sure a couple of slider and/or rating tweaks can help this. Maybe the strength slider?

I'd just like the post defender to actually TRY to stop me. They try to deny the post-entry pass. But, once the offensive player has the ball, they just allow the guy to back them down and shoot over the top.

I think the CPU doesn't double as much as they should to stop it either. I could score 3-4 baskets in the first 6 minutes of the game with Yao and the CPU will still just continue to play him straight up. Again though, upping double teams in the coach profiles could fix that as well.

And, come on guys, when has KG been that prolific of a scorer? His highest point total last season was 26 and that was only done twice. Same for the 08-09 season. The last time he scored 30+ was May of 08. 40+ points? Try Jan of 07 when he was still in Minny.

Heh... Okay, yeah, that's fair. I was a bit over the top there, admittedly.

But, I guess just turn down the Inside Scoring Sliders. Well, that was easy, huh?

But... Can you really score 40 with Z or KG every game?

I can ABUSE most players with Ilgauskas, hitting hooks and fades from the post. Even if you double in the post its seemingly even more easy to score, simply shoot. And this is on allstar/sim.

As I said, the post game is so much better than in 2k10, but its a tad too efective.

So, is there any way to tone this a bit down?
I agree, those post turnaround fadeaways with guys like Garnett are WAAAAAAAY too effective and there is really no way to defend them. I don't know what 2k was thinking. the post turnaround fadeaway is THE biggest cheese move in the game. i have tried all types of contests to counter it (holding R2 and block, holding L2 and block, just using the block button by itself, holding R2 and L2 and pressing block...then trying all of these while pressing the left stick directly toward the shooter to get in his face)....none of these methods work...certain big men shoot like 80 percent on this cheesy turnaround shot no matter how much you are in their grill.

what's really frustrating is when you contest it perfectly and the the ball warps through your hand and the guy still makes the shot....B.S.

another problem is that the block animations that you get when trying to defend this shot are wildly inconsistent....sometimes your guy will jump perfectly and block the shot...the next time you will do the exact same thing on the controller but you will get a completely different block animation that is slower and less effective.

I have no problem stopping the post game on hall of fame vs users or cpu. I don't know what this guy is talking about.

how do you do it? as I said in my earlier post above...i have tried all every possible way to contest Garnett's cheesy turnaround fadeaway, and he makes 80 percent of them no matter how much i'm in his grill. it's not so much the post game overall, but the "turnaround fadeaway" move in particular that is the real problem.

the turnaround fadeaway with guys like Garnett is the CPU's go-to cheese move when it wants to go on a scoring run. if i'm winning by 10 or more, sure enough the CPU dumps it to KG over and over and he proceeds to hit 4-5 contested turnaround fadeaways over the course of 3 minutes....and on every one i was contesting him hard. maybe it's just certain players that have this superhuman turnaround jumper, but it's ridiculous how unstoppable it is.

Garnett and Jermaine O'neal are 2 of the most annoying with this - and they're on the same team, which makes it even more annoying...when KG goes to the bench, O'neal comes in right where he left off and starts hitting the same ridiculous post turnaround jumpers. there's no escaping it when playing the celtics.
