About to Start My Association... (advice)

Alright, I'm reading a lot of things on here but I'm having trouble sorting it all out. I want to start my Association soon with my Bulls and I want to know a few things:

How are the out of the box settings? Are sim sliders needed? I know in Madden the game is unplayable if you don't tweak it.

Are there any issues in My Association that I should be aware of?

This is the first time I've bought NBA 2K, is there anything else general that I should know?

Just looking for a quick rundown before I start. I've only played 3 games and I don't get much time to play so I want to start playing ones that count. I'll get better as I play.

Dont play a 82 game season (if you want trades in year 2)

Download a quality draft class off of 2k share (so all the rookies wont be rated in the 80's/70's)

Thats basically it until the patch come out.

Can I ask why you don't play 82 games? How does the number of games affect the way the AI trades?

I'm wondering the same thing about playing 82 games.

And are there any suggestions for difficulty for first time players. I definitely don't want it too easy.

And what about Out-of-the-box settings? Can I start a franchise and be ok with Sim stats?
