Gameplay Changes with each Roster Update: I can't be the only one noticing...

Am I the only one noticing the little differences in gameplay from week to week? It seems to coincide with the roster updates. I know this has been brought up before; I even wrote a blog about it several weeks ago that I eventually deleted.

With this latest roster update (the 11/18 one that came down this morning), the controls are yet again responsive (they were laggy after the last update); teammate AI reacts better defensively (I actually saw Big Baby hustle for a loose ball before the CPU did LOL); animations don't seem as drawn out; less unwarranted contact on D (aka bumping). I can't be the only one seeing this little nuances from day to day.

I'm playing a game on simulation right now, and I'm nailing the good looks from 3. Can someone please confirm this so I don't feel like I'm becoming a senile old man LOL (I'm only 27)

I don't know, but seriously I think its just how ppl keep saying that and ppl start to look for the changes maybe when there are none...I just want to hear what 2k has to say about this, but I do believe a patch is something that can really change the gameplay, not roster files???

I mean, it's not like they're huge changes; only a patch can do that. But there are subtle changes that can be easily noticed from the tip just from the feel of the player once you get the ball. It may be possible that 2K isn't doing anything explicitly to cause this; it could just be little tweaks in the player ratings that's causing some things to change in the code. This could all be inadvertent, but it's definitely happening from what I see.

it does seem online play, whether it be ranked or unranked varies from week to week maybe month to month.

i dont mind whatever setting they choose.

just stick with one so we dont have to keep adjusting to settings/sliders and just play the game.

and it would be nice to see 2k's slider set up for these different online matches. instead they are hidden.

you turn on your game one week have a blast playing win some lose some. go back to your life and when you come back...

        everything is different.

moral to the story: WE NEED CONSISTENCY.

it might just be because you think it has changed, because i started to buy into it after everyone was talking about it. or it might be changing.

cant an nba 2k guy come on here and just confirm once and for-all?

shouldnt someone be telling us what all these updates are doing anyway? like what ratings have changed?

I cant explain it but I felt the game played different today. I do think it is the player tweaks in ratings that is causing this. Not complaining or anything as i am really enjoying this game. I just hope when they finally get the patch out they they dont break something like last year.

It def changes. There was one update where basically all the perimeter bumping was removed. People complained an the next one all the rkelly style bumpin an grindin was back.

Theres no telling what the 2K Insider is changing in the players attributes and tendencies with these updates, messing around with those can have affects on the gameplay.

A one game experience isn't enough to determine that something has changed.

In an association without roster updates I just ran into a stretch where I've scored under 90 points 3 games in a row, losing 2 and winning 1 after a 9-1 start to the season.

Playing locked on Jordan I can't get open for shots, it seems like opposing players are grabbing me like glue.

What has changed? My play, nothing with the game.

In the real NBA teams go through spurts of scoring well, not scoring well, defending well, not defending well. Every time this happens in the game, every run, doesn't mean game play has changed.

I have not noticed any gameplay changes in my Association.

You wouldn't see the changes in association if they're due to a roster update.

There's a difference between games playing out differently and the game itself playing differently. If you play primarily Association, you're not going to see what I'm talking about because you're not getting your rosters updated through the online server.

But if you play mostly NBA Today games like I do, you're forced to play with the latest rosters, and you're going to see the changes that I'm referring to from week to week.
