Problems Dunking?

I'm not starting a thread to say the game should be a dunk fest. I'm just looking for some tips to get some more dunks because now(since the patch) I seem to never get a dunk when I'm at the basket. Does anyone have some tips for what I'm doing wrong?

Hold RT and use the right stick.

About how many dunks/gm are you getting anyway?

I know how to dunk but I when I get in the lane and I can't dunk the ball. I'm not seeing many dunks, I'm lucky if I'm getting 3 a game. Before the patch I had no problem.

that or raise your dunk rating, shot in traffic

Im having the same problem. My man is a 99 dunk and even on fast breaks all I do is layups. I get maybe 2 dunks a game and this is at the most random times. Mean while Rajon Rondo just dunked on 3 people on my team. Im too upset.

I've noticed now that after the patch it's harder to dunk and that's a good thing. With drose pre-patch I could practically run around the defender and dunk it home at will. Now I have to really work for it but I've been getting to the line a lot more as a result of it.

are you letting go of the turbo during those fast breaks?

i am experiencing no problem dunking the ball and my dunk rating is a 90

I think is a problem of roster....
I delete all roster and i fix the dunk....
I don't know if is the same problem....
Prove to go in practice and see if you can dunk....
By coincidence i have gone to practice mode and when i try to dunk with Deron williams(i raised vertical and dunk)but nothing,nada de nada ....after i have change the roster and voilà Deron dunk...

It's like I said, I DON'T want a dunk fest. I just was hoping to get my players a couple more dunks during the games. I usually don't change the sliders and I play on Default/pro if that makes a difference.

I think with the patch they're goal was to make the game EVEN MORE realistic than it already is, thus lowering the dunks. If you're only getting about three dunks a game now then that's right on pace, the NBA average for dunks in a game is just a hair over 3 per game.

I have no problem dunking with the highflyers, dwights or a dunker when i have a head of steam and a path. And when I do dunk on someone in traffic its now special because its rarer.

For my player I got some advice on tuning my attributes, but yeah I can't do them either. Hopefully that will change with some Skill points.

I can dunk in practice quite easily. Not so much in game, even at wide open lanes/baskets, he just lays it in.

I found your little tidbit at the end of your paragraph to be quite interesting, so I did a little research. On a whim, the first results I could come across were from the 2009 NBA season. I was really surprised to see such dunking variance between teams (though I guess I should have seen it coming). In 2009, the Denver Nuggets led the NBA by averaging 6.3 dunks per game. The rest of the top five (Suns, Sixers, Lakers, Blazers - in order) all averaged between 5 and 6 dunks per game.

On the flip side, the '09 San Antonio Spurs averaged just .89 dunks per game (that's 73 dunks for the entire season - or 447 less than Denver). The Spurs had 94 less dunks than anyone else in the NBA. The 2nd, 3rd, and 4th lowest dunking teams (Pacers, Timberwolves, and Rockets, respectively) all averaged just above 2 dunks per game. The fifth lowest dunking team, the Pistons, averaged just a tiny shade below 3 dunks per game.

So really, even with the acquisition of Richard Jefferson, if you're the Spurs in your 2K11 game, you might be overachieving with three dunks per. Ha.

Wow... if your having an issue dunking increase the slider(s) or try reading other like... topic(s) first. Out of the nearly 300 views you got with not even 0.5% with this issue really says a lot so... get to know your game.

Just to eliminate the obvious factors: I'd be sure I was taking direct routes to the basket. If your player doesn't have a good angle, he'll likely have a tougher time taking off for a slam. Further, clearly, be sure you're using turbo but in moderation. I think players can still dunk when their turbo bar is completely empty, but likely not as often or accurately.

If the dunks are still lacking, I'd suggest toggling the sliders to your liking.
