    Do 3 Team trades work?

I have yet to make one work. Maybe it's just me, or they seem harder to execute this year? Thoughts?

I have never had one work. So I do what I usually do, give up too much, police myself and override.

My guess is that they do not work. I have tried a lot. And most of them were terribly one-sided in the CPU's favor.

No they work but its hard to figure out what the team is declining since you don't get counter offers. Its kind of a pain in the *** unless you know for sure the players/picks match up

I doubt anyone gets the 2 other teams to accept on the first trade proposal unless you're screwing yourself. Someone always counters turning a 4 person trade into an 8 player trade. It's more of a hassle to make sure the salaries line up AND the team absolutely likes what they're getting.

i actually just got one to work. cavs got gilbert arenas and kirk hinrich, i get mo williams, wizards get antawn jamison my 1st rounder and patty mills. ive got a couple to work now, i figure that on your end it has to be a deal that cpu would make even if it wasnt a 3rd team involved. other than that all i can say is start with a solid base, and keep working at it.

Re: Do 3 Team trades work?

I was planning on making a thread about this after I had done a little more research. So far this is what I have found.

Through trade finder, I would find a trade that a team would accept. I would then test the trade to see if it still worked once I was in the trade screen, instead of just clicking "accept this trade/offer". After I confirmed that it would work, I'd add a third team technically, but eliminate the second team for a sec while I found a trade that the third time was amicable to. Then, add both teams back in and plug in the identical trades that worked when it was just 2 teams, and guess what? They didn't work. This makes no sense, to further test this out. I actually switched some stuff around, in my last trial run this is what I did.

76ers trade: Spencer Hawes (3 star rating, for reasons I'll never fully understand, but I digress). Andres Nocioni, 2011 1st round pick, 2012 1st round pick
Wizards trade: Gilbert Arenas, Nick Young, 2011 1st round pick, 2012 1st round pick

The third team was the Bobcats, I was going after Stephen Jackson and Tyrus Thomas, they were getting Arenas and 4 1st round picks, and the Wizards were going to get a couple of other players for salary cap purposes like Diaw etc. Now, was I actually trying to attempt a realistic trade or even one that I'd want to do regularly? No. I was just trying to see with the 76ers 2 1st round picks, and the Wizards 2 1st round picks, plus pretty effing good players, or at least players with high star ratings (hawes, arenas) and the Bobcats wouldn't do it.

However, if I did Hawes, Andres, 2 1st round picks, they were ready to give me Stephen Jackson, Gerald Wallace, and a first round pick. Yet they wouldn't give up S-Jax, Diaw, and Ty Thomas for 4 1st round picks, Arenas, Hawes, and another player I feel as though I'm forgetting.

So based on that, I would say 3 team trading is absolutely broken. How else to explain that I can do 2 team trades and get offered substantially more from the CPU, yet no team will accept any 3 team trade? I've literally not gotten one to work. And like I said, I got the two CPU teams involved to accept the exact same trades individually, but as soon as I convert it into a 3 team trade, suddenly they will not accept the trade that just worked moments earlier as a 2 team trade.

I'll spare you the exact details, but at one point, for the heck of it, I tried to get the Celtics to agree to a trade for Kevin Durant and Steph Curry with multiple 1st round picks, for basically their biggest contracts outside of Rondo and the Big 3. They wouldn't accept it. If that's not proof that the 3 team trading is definitely broken then I have no clue what is.

Don't get me wrong, I love this game and it's not the end of the world. But it would be nice to actually have them work correctly, since they are in the game after all.

For all I know it's some glitch like turning over the back fouls off messes up 3 team trades or something like that. Hopefully that's the case so there's some fix for it. But unless I have a flawed disc or something, it's either some little option that messes up 3 team trades, or the system is flat broken. What other explanation is there when teams won't accept a trade for the best players in the game, multiple 1st round picks, for 4 bench players with a 1 star rating each?

I've done what the above poster did a few times and never got it to work either. I knew it was broken.
