    Generated Draft Class Potential

So in my Cavaliers association, i tanked the first year on purpose and ended up w/ the 3rd pick. I picked a SF who was 72 overall, but his potential was C+!!! I mean, in the mock draft they have it had him as the number 2 pick, and I had never scouted him but figured "what could go wrong". And, becuase of the low potential he has 2 star trade value, so i cant even get anything for him. Anyone else run across this w/ an auto generated class?

You said you never scouted him that's your problem. WHen you scout you get better readings on players POT. I once scouted a player who's POT was a C- and after three trips he ended up having a B. Same goes for lottery picks who've I scouted that ended up with C- POT. You gotta scout man.

It's a good thing. In fact, I hope there are some F's projected in the top 5.

      Adam Morrison
      Michael Olowokandi
      Kwame Brown
      etc.

Yes it's a very good thing.

There are plenty of busts every year. Consider yourself Darko'd.

I honesty don't know what people saw in Adam Morrison.

To me, it was blindingly obvious that he wouldn't be a good NBA player. Too slow, couldn't create his own shot, not a good defender. He was worthy of maybe the 23rd pick, not the 3rd pick, if I remember right.

A 72 rated player with c+ potential is a pretty good pick.

There shouldnt be a Melo/Wade/LBJ draft class every year.....

If you don't like it you can always go into edit player and up his potential. That's what I do to the draft classes if they're off.

I agree. It was hard to even compare him to a successful player in the NBA at the time.

He may go down as one of the biggest busts in history. Because, teams always fall in love with bigs and make bad decisions, so that's understandable. But, it's hard to imagine what Charlotte thought they would get other than, at best, a good shooter. At the 3rd pick?

Maybe he will carve out a career one day. But it sure doesn't seem likely now.

                      A mild, possible cheat?

Pay attention to Intangibles when scouting.

And, do scout. The system is a lot better this year (they notify you when your scout completes his trip).

Hindsight is 20/20. It's easy to say that NOW. Despite his lack of athleticism, Morrison was a tall, heady, perimeter shooter with a high quick release. He was also extremely productive and showed leadership qualities in each of his 3 college years. There's another white dude who played in the 80s with the same exact size and skill-set. That other guy didn't turn out so bad.

It was "blindingly obvious" to you??? Really?!? In his junior year, he had 13 games of 30 or more points, and 5 of them he had +40 points.... and against Major competition. If it was so blindingly obvious to you, you really should submit a resume to an NBA team for a GM position.

LoL its actually funny because out of all of the top 5 picks thru out the years (atleast to my knowledge) had somewhat of a NBA career, yet Adam is prolly the fastest to become unemployed out of the bunch (from The NBA) yet has 2 rings!

Someone needs to sign that guy
