Download issue

We just picked up the game, put it in XBOX 360 out of box and were hit with download update message. Went about downloading update but each time, it stalls out in the middle of the download. We retried it several times, with the downloading bar moving ever so slightly each time.

Is this normal? Thanks in advance for any help and/or insight.

Mine froze the first time I ever tried to do a NBA Today update, but a shut down and restart solved it. Do you have a pretty good connection to XBO Live?
