If you want it easy, unlock Create-A-Legend mode. That way you can start out with a very decent Michael Jordan and don't have to put in the hard yards.

My Player at the beginning is frustrating but it is also rewarding. You can't be trying to play like an All-Star SG when you're just a rookie picked in the second round (presumably) or late in the first.

I like post-patch. As a PG I can actually get rebounds when I have good position and have boxed out. I can call plays, etc. I started out on the Nets where I dominated before requesting a trade (got to the Lakers, as starting PG).

I put my steals to max 96+ and I still get the same amount of steals as I do with a 80 skill level. That and emotion (more fouls) are skills that have little effect for me. I ave 1 - 2 SPG as a PG. I like focusing on the scoring and speed/quickness/vertical, vertical helps me A LOT, I can get good rebounds and blocks as a PG with little skill points in those categories.

idk man...i seem to get more reaching fouls with 80 steal...with a 99 steal(jordan +5 shoe bonus) i average close to 4-5 spg...

scoring has and will always be easy to make up even with a lower attribute rating...say you score nothing in one game...you can easily make that up by scoring 40 points in another game...bringing your average for those two games at 20ppg...

but anyway... i wasnt saying he should increase his steal attribute...i will always stress the fact that a medium range game comes first in almost every situation when starting out my player mode...i absolutely think an inside game is useless unless you can also get your other ratings up(speed, ballhandle and etc.) and those are usually the most expensive...

and i agree verticals is essential and cheap...

What ratings do you invest more of your SP on? I tend to go for Ball Security, Vertical and Mid Range Shot.

im actually maxed out in my stats now...

but if you're just starting out...i would get the medium shot, consistency, and shot off dribble up to at least 70(i prefer 80)...then get ball handle up to 80 to prevent your opponents from stopping your dribble...ball security is good if you're going to attack the rim as well as if you're matched up against annoying defenders like rondo who swipes at you...verticals is probably the cheapest out of all those categories and you can just use your instincts as to when you want to max that out...i prefer getting it to at least a 70...

Sounds like your team mate grade isn't great or even good, help your team by setting up picks and getting assists, and it doesn't sound like your doing any of the drills which you get points for doing well. Start with doing those you should see some improvements.

It takes a lot to get ur guy up in the 80s. First thing you should do is get out of miami thers no place 4 u at sg find a good team wit a sucky sg so u could get more min then try n get asmuch milestones on key games to get da xtra skill points at first don't even worry about scoring just play smart set picks play good d and pass the ball; get rebounds. Increase your offense awareness and def awareness if you want your ovr 2 go up quicker
