big problem with this game - can't make 3's on simulation style

i like simulation style, but i don't think i can take it anymore due to the broken 3 point shooting. nobody can hit a 3 on sim mode. it is especially noticeable in My Player. I have my 3 point shooting maxed out (at 97) and my player makes about 1 out of 9 wide open 3's...i'm talking open 3's, he hits 1 out of 9. and my teammates are even worse. in My Player, i have seen teammates hit an open 3 maybe twice in 30 tries. the extremely low 3 point shooting percentages really kill sim mode. considering it's called "simulation mode" you'd think it would have more realistic shooting.

it doesn't bother me much in quick games because i can adjust the sliders, but in My Player you can't adjust sliders so you are stuck with the terrible 3 point shooting if you want to play simulation...or you have to go back down to default, which makes it too easy to score due to lack of contact and no defense.

hopefully in 2k12 they don't make 3 point shooting so terrible on simulation mode....or at least let us change the sliders in My Player.

Just got this game a few weeks back and was just playing it on All Star no adjustments yet. I am having trouble shooting threes as well. I play as the Bulls and I can not hit any other than with Korver or a wide open Rose every once in a while. Never used to have a problem nailing triples in past years. I guess I will have to bump the sliders up.

Timing: Make sure the release is perfect. Green on feedback doesnt always mean perfect
Rhythm: Dont go chuckin, get in a rhythm then they will drop
Space: Make sure you have a good look.

I play on Allstar sim, and by following those 3 things i wet threes like nothing with the kings

Shooting is definitely tough with the default Simulation settings. I know you can't adjust sliders in MyPlayer but for other modes, I'd suggest bumping up the slider a few clicks.

You have to play game after game, practice after practice. That's what I did and eventually got it to go. Now I shoot over 46% as a team from behind the arc in my Miami Heat franchise and I'm 43 games into my second season. So as you can see, it takes a lot of time to get just right and learn the releases of all of your players and get it down pat to where's it's automatic and you do it without even thinking about it. Same for me, no one is hitting any 3s on my team whether its open or not open, i am gonna increase the 3pt sliders a bit

Even if you time it perfect you may still miss based on whether you were dribbling, players in front of you and many other factors. So even if you keep chucking them up you may still miss the open 3s. I learned to take smart 3s, meaning ones that I get set up on or fast break on. Try not to shoot too many too, get your mid range in and get hot before you start shooting the 3.

The only dudes that i would trust in shooting w/ NO warmup, would be the Specialists. Like Korver.

something i noticed with korver (and many others that helps me) is that they have "hot spots" ... korvers are on both wings, youll feel the controller vibrate a little when ur standing in his hot spot.. go into freestyle mode and walk around the court trying to find their spot, this helps with knowing where they shoot a higher %

Yup. When you have guys like MJ, Kobe, or LeBron get hot, then you can chuck to an extent and make some 3's, but you can't just fire them up against solid defense and expect to drain them.

I play on All-Star with modified Sim settings, and I had to turn my 3-point shooting slider down to 45 because I was consistently shooting >50% from 3.

Just take better shots and work for those open 3's. Swing the ball quickly.

dont used real fg%, the reason you guys cant hit 3pointers on Simualtion is because the default 3pt slider is at 45 so its harder to shoot without perfect release. Just bump it up to 48 and it will be better

I don't know about my player mode but on all star sim it is good for me as is. If you think you can chuck up shots that will not work. What are your other 3pt shooter rankings 80+? Shots need to be in rhythm and perfect release to have the greatest chance and preferably open. You have a 97 3pt rating you should be able to make more than your fair share though man. What are your close rating and shoot off dribble rating? It really shouldn't matter if your rating is that high

run plays to get you man to there hot spot from behind the arc, if you are missing stop take some mid range and get you man warmed up then go back to the threes.
