Re: Is this cheesing?
Yea I don't believe in the word "cheesing" bc in real life u can't tell somebody how to play or which lineup to use, each person is there own coach and if an opponent can't stop whatever your play is then they need to go back to the drawing board -

Well of course, but in real life you're able to stop them.
In game however, you (OP) are using exploits that almost 100% of the time lets the ball go in the hoop.Comment

Ray Allen has played POINT in his career. Ive seen Reggie Miller play point as well.
A good Guard is a good GUARD even if his abilities are focused toward scoring.
When someone does a switch like that its so obvious that your looking to score at the 1 position its easy to adjust the defensive assignments. U can either have your PG defend Allen or just have the SG assigned to him. Its not a Cheese tactic IMO.Comment

I'm with the guy above, Rondo is too good in this game to waste playing Ray at the point. Hell, even Nate is serviceable in this game as the backup. Back on topic though, i'm assuming you are saying you play off-ball defense with the center. None of those things you mentioned are cheese, the hop step moves in the paint through defenders are cheese moves if continually exploited, but no i wouldn't say soComment

Where you press triangle and he he hops back, probably gave it the wrong name. I actually rotate between using Rondo, Von Wafer and Nate Robinson as my other guard. Von Wafer had the hot hand that game, so I kept him in. I shoot mostly jumpers so I find Rondo as a liability on offense. So regardless of how you guys feel, He doesn't fit my play style and my rotation clearly works for me online -- my online record is 63-16 (using the Celtics mostly).Comment

No your opponent should stop being a ******* and put a bigger person on Ray its not like a step back jumper is impossible to defend like the spin dunkMilwaukee Bucks Dynasty:

Lol if you bank his jumpers they go in at a ridiculously high rate as opposed to his real life counter-part.I'm with the guy above, Rondo is too good in this game to waste playing Ray at the point. Re: Is this cheesing?
If you're hop stepping into jump shots, then no, I'd say it's not cheesing. You're freeing yourself up but you still have to make the shot. Now, I played a guy this morning in a Team Up game (just the two of us) who used a similar tactic but it was cheese IMO. He took Darren Williams and drove to the goal every time. I'm a pretty decent defender though and could stop him at about the free throw line; however, whenever I stopped him in his tracks, he would proceed to hop step straight through me into the lane. Then he would continuously pump fake until one of my computer players went up for the block and then jump into them, draw the foul, and go to the free throw line. The foul was never on me and I had no way of stopping my computer guys from jumping. 8 possessions down the floor, 8 trips to the free throw line. Exact same thing every time and I couldn't stop it.
Is this an exploit or was there something I could have done to stop this?Comment

Re: Is this cheesing?
It's a exploit the best thing u could have tried was playing man to man on-ball defense and sag off him.
I played ppl who do this and it's a cheap move... most ppl i played that do that stepback move always dribble around with 1 guy 1st, then if they can't get past u they do that step back move which gives alot of space for a easy jumper.
I personally don't like it thats one of them cheap moves that could be exploited just like the euro-step, hot step, pumpfake & etc.Comment

Re: Is this cheesing?
I wouldn't say a pumpfake is cheesing. This is how people cheese with the pump fake though. They drive, and once you cut them off and they're about to be forced to pick up their dribble, they hop step and magically jump past everyone on the defense. Then 3 or 4 guys collapse on the guy and he pump fakes until somebody jumps and then it's an automatic layup or free throw every time. This is how guys online that shoot 15% from 3 point range can shoot 70% from the field over the course of 1000 games. It's brutal to try to stop because even if you don't fall for it, your AI eventually will.NFL: Bills
