    How do you play offense?

Do you call plays? Or just pass and move until your open. Also does anyone use inbound plays and how well do they work?

I call plays every time down the court. It's tough to get open looks in this game doing otherwise.

I run the inbounds plays that the CPU calls for me. I never call them myself.

i call plays about 1 out of 4 times about. Sometimes i just isomotion to drive and then kick it out to the open man or I let the AI run set up plays by itself. I also do some pick and rolls with it as well (i don't really consider that a play though).

I run plays half of the time, then the other half of the time, as I primarily use the Miami Heat, I attack and penetrate with Wade and LeBron before the defense is set and either get a layup at the basket, a trip to the foul line or an open player or two. If you don't play with players like Wade and LeBron though and just use a bad, mediocre, or good but not contending team I would probably run plays 9 out of 10 times, maybe getting a quick transition bucket once in a while, depending on what team you're using of course. Hope this helps.

I call a play every time down court and if the play breaks down I just call the NBA stable diet, pick and roll. Sometimes if the play breaks down but the ball ends up in a players hands that can create I will call isolation for him.

Grab a board and get down the court as fast as I can and either get a lay-up/dunk,go to the line or hit someone trailing for a 3 or midrange shot. Off a made shot. Pick and Roll and have someone on the baseline cut to the basket

Off misses I look for transition opportunities, if that's not there I look for any mismatches or call one of the quick plays.

Off makes and dead ball situations I call set plays. (Unless the team has terrible default playbook like the T'Wolves or something) then I just mainly rely on quick plays and ball movement.

I've tried to control my inbound plays but I guess i don't know how the passing works because i seem to just get five second calls. I just go with whatever the AI picks for me.

I have League Pass and I really like watching games on my DVR and finding and compiling authentic playbooks for teams. Problem is it just takes way too long. (I managed to get almost all of the sixers plays but it took nearly 3 hours.)

I play on Superstar and do not find this to be the case. Icon lead passing combined with pick and rolls/pops usually creates enough space either to score to swing the ball around the perimiter and with that lanes will free up open looks.

I rarely if ever call plays and my offense is just fine.

Re: How do you play offense?

Typically (but not always) I call for a high pick & roll to get the defense moving - especially if my team lacks a post scorer or a player who can get his own shot off the dribble. From there, I'll analyze the defense and take what they're giving me.

If no one goes with the ball-handler, I'll either pop a J or drive to the hole. If I drive and the defense collapses, I'll kick out for an open shot.

If the defense hedges hard or traps the ball-handler, I'll look for a pass or an alley-oop to the roller.

It's simple basketball, but it doesn't stall your flow like some plays do and it can be highly effective.

I do run the odd play when I'm struggling and need to get a good look at the basket (usually running a shooter off a screen).

I always am playing PG. I like to average 10 assists no matter what quarter length im playing. I at least run a quick play every time im in half court. I like to call Iso + Pick and roll, or quick screen for some shots and assists. Otherwise I run plays usually not for me, I can create for myself.

50% call plays, 20% quick plays, 20% Iso or passing to open guy, 10% fast break.

I play with Magic & the '91 Lakers. If you remember anything about that team, they ran simple posts and iso posts all day long.

I'll call plays to get Scott, and Worthy open on the wings. I'll run pick and roll with Magic and Divac and try and drive to the basket and dish out to Perkins for a 3.

I would say I just dump it in the post a good 80 % of the time every possession. Magic, Worthy, Perkins and Divac are all excellent post players. The only problem I have with this is, Magic doesn't get his usual high assist totals like he did throughout his career. I think he's only averaging 6 assists at most for me so far.

My best plays are backing down PGs with Magic and heading to the free throw line or dishing it out to the open man.

                          This.

I realized about as far back as 2k1, that the AI "rewards" you for calling plays and executing them properly...

Your FG% is better when you do...

I let the CPU call my plays, because I'm too consumed with running the point...I also think the AI calls better plays than I would based on the other teams strengths / weakness / tendancies, but I could be imagining that...

If I get stuck, I "audible" to pick and roll, but not more than 5-10 possesions per game...

I ALWAYS let the CPU call the inbounds, it seems to have a lot of variables that, once again, I don't trust myself to understand fully yet...

This year, it seems the gameplay is much tougher to beat with transition and freelance, so half court sets it is...

Oh yeah, I'm playing as The Cavs, so that's an issue as well...

                          No superstars on that roster...

The quick screen quick play is useful for generating ball movement, but i still believe offensive movement as a whole needs some tweaking in this game...thats why games seem to get pretty repetitive to me

probably 90% of the time i'm running a play unless i'm on the break.

most of the time its quick iso then either quick pick n' roll or just pull the nearest player to set a pick to create movement. as the PG i normally move into the screen then cut back hoping my teammate will roll to the bucket for an layup. if not i'll do a nice easy step back jumper. i'm trying to find more ways to get the rest of my team invovled but w/ 5 min quarters and a desire to earn a dbl dbl every game, most of the time im just running the pick and roll
