Melo did sign an extension, but I'm not sure if 2k actually changed his contract. You might want to check that before starting.

Anyways, Zach Randolph is usually a free agent after the first season. He's a major upgrade over Andray Blatche at the PF spot... and moving Lewis' contract for an expiring (Kirilenko is most likely the way to go) will give you more than enough room to sign him in the off-season.

After the first season, I would try to hang on to Kirilenko, Nick Young, and Josh Howard. Then when the free agency rolls around, try to sign Zach Randolph and Aaron Brooks. Use AB as your sixth man to come in off the bench and put up some major points.

You might need to move Andray Blatche in the first season for an expiring to make it happen. Your team would most likely take a major hit in the first season, but it would be worth it in the long run if you can pull both Aaron Brooks and Zach Randolph in the offseason.

If you want a team that could be finals-worth in a year or two, check out the 76ers. They have talent but are just too young to make a big playoff run. Although you wouldn't really need to rebuild them at all, just wait...
