Noob question

Is there anyway to do a regular online game with a friend? (Not a team-up game). Sorry if this sounds really stupid. Thanks.

So you just want to play with your friend via XBL?

A quick way to do it is to hit X and it will show you your friends playing the game. Just select your friend and invite him to a game.

I'm on PSN, when I go to quick game and ranked it gives me a random opponent. When I go to Team-Up and invite my friend to the party lobby, it puts me in a team-up game, which I don't want to do.

Press square when your on the front screen with ranked and quick game, it shows a map, press L2 or R2 to scroll over to friends, then you can invite to unranked game.

They do need to make there online options more clear, like put them in the menus. My friends new to the game had the same problem.

THANK YOU! Exactly what I needed. And you're right, they really do need to be more clear with that. It doesn't even say anything about it in the bigger manual online.
