cant get past loading screen

I can't get past the checking HDD thing in the main menu, it always freezes. Any help? I would appreciate a lot

I had this problem lately. I don't know if your ever worked but in my situation it went from working to not working. What i had done is change the time set on the ps3 from standard to daylight savings. After i did that i would get the freeze at the loading screen. I changed it back to standard and it worked after that. I would suggest thinking about what else you changed in your setting lately. Hope this helps.

I encountered the same problem last night. What fixed it was to turn off the internet connection in the network settings. I could play my association and My player off-line that way. Unfortunately, this does no good if you want to play on-line or download anything. I don't know what the specific problem is or if there is a fix upcoming but at least I could play off-line last night.

I had this problem a few weeks ago, I deleted the NBA Today and Living Roster files and everything was fine again.

Its started again today though and I've already deleted the necessary files, very annoying.

Just delete your game data. This will not affect your saved sliders, rosters, association, etc. You will, however, be prompted to download the patch again.

I've been having the 'freeze' problem since last Wednesday. Tried deleting all files and reloading but as soon as i sign into the PSN network BANG it freezes. Ran out of ideas and the 2K support team are completely clueless!
Theres been a LOT of people with this problem in the UK, not sure if this is a coincidence?!?

I played the game fine yesterday but its freezing again today.

I'm close to getting rid of the game, no point keeping it around if I can't play it.

I have had this problem after installing update 1.3, also received it after I installed the gamedata of Mlb 11 the show. So there are so many variables to why this freeze happens there really is no fool proff way to troubleshoot it.

The best thing that you can do is delete fiels one by one up into a full reset of the PS3 until you get it to a state that will play the game again.

Just started having this issue as well. I get to the "Checking HDD Space" and it just hangs right there. Have to do a hard reboot on the power button to restart my PS3.

I tried deleting my Living Roster and NBA Today files but no help. WTF?

Was playing fine earlier today....
