Are HoF and Superstar difficulties bs?

I'm starting to win a bit too much on all star now and am thinking of moving up to superstar difficulty. But I'm a bit hesitant to do that because I've head a lot of bad things about superstar and HoF. Are those difficulty settings as scripted and as bad as they're made out to be?

depends what mode u're playing, if u play as the all team u should be fine with it, if u play as only 1 player, get ready to see the dumbest decisions ever from ur teammates

Absolutely. Heck, even All-Star is crooked.

I only play on HOF and I can tell you it's hit or miss. Some games it's like everything goes the way you want, other games every shot rims out and passes get intercepted like crazy.

Prepare to play smart with the lead, I've blown a 20+ point leads in the 4th with 5 minutes left on HOF before.

Agreed, I've never played anything other than HOF. All the other levels are like D-League users in my opinion. If you want to be good in 2K, I think you should play on HOF cause you HAVE to bring your A game. I've gone in association modes where if I'm not bringing it, I will get ran out the gym. Of course many people complain about it being too, "unrealistic" and this and that and blah blah blah, IMO, they suck at 2K lol.

You'll notice a difference when you play someone who plays HOF all the time compared to someone who plays all-star. It's just what the name says, the all-star will play like an all-star, (Kevin Love) where the HOF will play like a HOF (Wilt Chamberlain).

Re: Are HoF and Superstar difficulties bs?

HOF is difficult if you don't know how to create openings & time your shot. For Example last night in my Association with the Pistons, i faced my old team the Wizards in Game 7 of the East Finals. Perry Jones was already drafted there while i was controlling the wizards, but when i took control of the pistons i made a few trades the prior season that gave me a few 1 yr players that were making a ton of money so that way by Free Agency there contracts would be up & i'd be able to have a ton of money to re-sign Greg monroe as well as Sign upcoming FA Carmelo Anthony to make a playoff push. Well my pistons with Melo & Jones finished the season with .500 record making us the 6th seed in the east. In that Game 7 i played,I had a commanding 14 pt lead with 7 minutes left in the game. Suddenly i was missing key shots,& the CPU ran the fast brk beating out my fastest players with there slowest for fast break points,or when i had my defense set they were pulling up baseline shooting a rainbow & swishing, making every contact shot/layup with the foul,& my lead was down to 3 with 40 seconds left. I ran the clock down to 25 i think & wide open missed a jumper with Melo with perfect timing they rebounded called T.O. they inbound to Wall swing it to Kemba Walker (who i drafted for them) & he hit a 3 that went thru Melo's hand when i tried blocking it. I have ball with 4 seconds inbound to Jones, take a wide open stepback in the right corner & miss easily to go into OT. In O.T. i won by 4 but HOF time after time proves unrealistic play. In that stretch where they came back in the 4th i had 0 Rebounds in 7 minutes because they never missed! I've loved HOF since day 1 but i do think it's very poor to play if you expect a 40 rebound 45 percent shooting for both teams type of game.

I deffinently agree, I play on HOF & it proves worthy against online users. But I disagree with your point of view of how people suck at 2k. Yes,alot of people are'nt that good but saying they suck at a videogame is comical to me because if i sucked it's because i'm to busy living life where videogames was'nt my top priority fortunately for me i have a life & still am a natural at basketball games maybe because i'm good at it in real life. I know you meant people that dedicate there lives to videogames & still suck are the 1's that suck but there's better ways to go about it. Insulting a core of people for no reason because they play a videogame on All Star & not HOF is a bad choice. I'm not Insulting you neither d11king because you got great point of views on most posts but i'm just letting you know that your words would start a war of opinions.

To the OP, you may want to try some different sliders.

Okay...well for some people a video game isn't about having to bring your A game every time, sweating it out and trying your damned hardest to beat the CPU at it's hardest most challenging difficulty. For some people they like to kick back and just have a fun game of basketball. That's what games are all about aren't they, fun? I guess we have different definitions of what constitutes 'fun'. The only time I'd really try my very hardest to win a game is in the playoffs or against a decent human opponent. I'm far off the playoffs and I refuse to play online.

Yep you're right, this is probably the best way to go. Having said that the Heat just blew me out, 119-87, I was the Nuggets too who are a great team, so maybe I'll stick with my current sliders for now, we'll see.

Well I agree with you there, but I think we were just saying Hall of Fame forces you to bring the A game, and it seems once you've mastered Hall of Fame, every other level becomes too easy and 'fun and enjoyable' as you've said.

Me personally, I've just come from gamebattles and online leagues so I just have that competitive nature built inside of me, so in everything lol I just want to be competitive and be the best at whatever I'm doing, also cause I live in LA and watch the person who does that best, in Kobe Bryant lol. You pick up a few things haha

I agree with the majority its a double edged sword.Youll have some games of beautiful basketball with good off ball movement, players breakin you down off the dribble like IRL and a great challenge on both sides of the court.

Then you get the games where the CPU shoots 70% from the field.Their center will beat your fastest player down the court for the break and you cant make a pass or field goal to save your life.

I play on HOF with slider tweaks.Ive been haven some success with the way it plays out now but the cpu still from time to time make crazy runs and ill go into a complete slump.

Play with your sliders and the difficulty and see if you can find a good fit for ya.

What I do to avoid those lucky streaks early on in the game is to just start over. Usually you'll be able to tell about 5 minutes into the game how the CPU will be playing, either fair or cheap. You know if the first 2 shots from the CPU are threes and they go in, it's going to be a long day.
