i always try to use icon passing. the directional passing is just too unreliable for me. as you get used to using icon passing for all the passes, you get pretty quick at doing it. if i miss a cutter, i'll just reset for the next play instead of trying to force a bad passmyplayer:
(1)5'10 PG, drafted 2nd round by the knicks. moved to the clippers in season 2
(2)7'5 C, drafted 26th in 1st round by Thunder. After winning the championship with the Thunder, I signed with the Chicago Bulls

As a long time player of this series, I'm so used to icon, that it's easy (and reliable) for me...

I think it depends on the situation. On fast breaks, icon passing seems too slow. So I use right stick passing and get some nice bounce passes every now and then.
I used to use directional passing when passing out of a layup attempt. Too many passes went to the wrong player, so I use right stick passing and icon passing for that now.Comment
