When signing a player and it has like the team option +2 years what exactly does it do?

If it is a normal team option then it will add a year to his contract and then before the last season you will choose if you want to keep him on your team or not before the added year. If you decline you can still resign him just for a different amount of money. 2 year team is the same but you'll get that option before both of the last 2 seasons. -

It gives the team the option to keep that player for the last year of his deal at the same price or end his contract early.
When it says "3 + 1," it means 3 gaurenteed years and then the team gets to choose for the fourth.Comment
