My game is freezing upon starting... WTF?

I don't know if this really counts as a bug/glitch since it might be a bigger problem. But it's so random. I've had the game since it came out, never had a problem. My disk has been in the PS3 for a month at least without switching games. I play it almost every day. Today I start it up, it freezes on the loading screen at the beginning. Turn off the PS3 and start it back up. Keeps doing it. I took out the disk... no scratches or even a smudge, perfectly clean. Has my PS3 finally given out after 4 years?

Everyone has been having this problem on PS3 for the past couple of days. Try deleting then reinstalling the patch.

I deleted the path AND the living rosters plus the NBA today and it started working again. For some reason it only froze when i was online...

This happened to me too just disable your internet settings on your ps3

Had the same problem deleted 2k game data. Reloaded game works fine now.

Make sure that you're not on PSN when you're playing the game, and it'll work fine.
