2k12 Rookies?

The worst part of this whole lockout: Ron Artest will still be Ron Artest in 2k12.

There WON'T BE ROOKIES until the lock out ends.

Legally they aren't NBA players until they sign contracts and they can't sign until the lock out ends.

Nothing 2K can do about it. End of story.

This is correct. If the lockout is still on come release.....no rookies will be in the game. I remember the samething happened with the work stoppage in 1999. When Live 99 cameout no rookies from the 98 draft class were in the game and back then we didnt have roster updates, we had to do it!!!

Looks like you got to create rookies if you want them, what's sad is they might not even have the name in the data base

Like someone else mentioned, most rookies will likely be hidden on the disc (like Landry Fields, Desean Butler & Dexter Pittman last year) until the lockout ends and they're signed to their respective teams. You'll likely see most 1st rounders, and some 2nd rounders, while playing My Player mode like the last two seasons. Hopefully, roster editors can get us all hidden rookies, free-agents & legends before the lock-out ends with Hex or the Reditor tools.

so will we be receiving a bunch of generic faces for the rookies? no commentaries or anything on them when lockout ends?

I would hope not but, I expect that to be the case. The lockout is going to deliver the only negative blow to NBA 2K12. It's a shame but if 2K can find a way around this and somehow keep the rookies and rookie involved commentary hidden on the disc and open it up in a patch post lockout, I would lose it. I don't know if it's possible but if they manage to pull this off, it's gonna show what great lengths they went to for us fans.

What about rookies that get drafted in the 2nd round and don't stick with a team? Teams dont have to sign 2nd rounders and I've seen some who have been cut show up on the FA list.
