This is kinda making not as excited as I was about about the game because I love association and it won't be the same without the rookies

prolly the lottery picks like 2k11... remember it didnt have landry fields and mad other players for a while... we'll get the more known and publicized rookies...

thats what I expect anyway... but honestly I already pre-ordered

I'm pretty sure they won't. With the lock-out NBA teams only have the right to sign the rookies they drafted but the players aren't signing contracts during the lock-out. Contract means that 2k can't put them in the game since they aren't members of any team yet.

What he said, NO rookies at first ... they might make some of them and have them hidden in the disc until the lockout ends (if it does) and release them once they sign their NBA contracts ... pc guys might confirm that for us in a month or so after the release and 360 guys once reeditor is done early next year ... anyways, is not 2k fault and it is reasonably understandable.

^^ Right. Don't know about you guys, but I'll be so immersed in the Greatest Mode that I'll be fine without rookies for quite a while.

my biggest concern is that i dont wanna start MP mode w/o great accurate rosters : (

I doubt they're on the disc, but most likely 2K will release an update on NBA Today with all of them once lockout ends.

How are rookies any different than FA's then? If you can have random guys that havn't been on a roster in the game as FAs then why can't you have rookies in the game as FAs also?

Not sure on the details but even if they aren't on the default rosters anyway someone will release a roster on 2K Share or OS with them on. No need to fear.
