    NBA 2K12 Controller Configuration question

After playing the demo, I noticed some of the controls are different (PS3).

Post Up is now Triangle (instead of the R2 and L2 triggers)

Question is: What buttons do you press to Protect Ball and what buttons do you press to do the Step Back Jumper? Triangle + Analog Back was Step Back jumper on NBA 2K11 but if you do that in the demo, Jason Kidd immediately would go into a Post Up move.

Re: NBA 2K12 Controller Configuration question

Ok thanks... but now how do I do the Hopstep Back? It was Analog away from basket + Triangle. Its labeled under 'Advanced Offense' in NBA 2K11. In NBA 2K12, I see Hopstep Layup but not Hopstep Back...

      Appreciate any help

There is no longer a single button that controls the hop step. All of the power has been transferred to the right stick. For step back jumper hold L2 and hold the right stick away from the basket.

What are the buttons do to the 'Hopstep Back' move and 'Lateral Hopsteps' etc. It was very effective and helped my offense when using Deron Williams. I would be dribbling around then hop backwards and splash a basket.

There are no "Hop Step Buttons." Every move is triggered with the sticks. If your talking about a step back, you have to hold LT/L2 and hold the right stick away from the basket. I really don't understand what exactly you're trying to do.

yeah been really cool if the demo included practice mode. Is that really gonna kill sales? Or heck I enjoy messing around with practice mode.. i probably would have paid 2.99 to pay the practice mode early.

Let me try that. If it doesn't work, I will do a video in NBA 2K11 of the move I am trying to execute.

EDIT: OK THATS THE MOVE - thanks bro. Jason Kidd is 40 years old, I don't expect him to be as fast as Deron Williams. Thanks so much man. How come they don't have this on the Screen Shot page?

Glad I could help. It's on screenshot #267. The "Shot Stick" screenshot.

I honestly don't think so. Too many things have controls have changed for them to allow button commands. I think this configuration was giving to help people that are used to buttons use the stick a little more. I also think that the purpose of this was to tone down the power given online cheesers. Now people have to make sure that they're doing the right moves at the right time. All in all, I think this is a change for the better.
