    Anybody else worried about 2k12?

Ok, so the game is getting a ton of positive feedback on here, almost universally so, and that's why I ask if anybody is like me and is worried it's going to disappoint.

The animations, fluidity, tempo, etc are all amazing, but based on the demo there are some concerns...

    1. Everybody in the game is a sharpshooter. If somebody gets open, it goes in. The percentages for both teams have been insanely high in almost every game.

    2. Piggybacking on that, the defensive abilities just aren't there. I have been able to shut down Lebron or Wade on multiple occasions, but somebody else always steps up because the AI will make a mistake. For example, if I want to take away Lebron's jumpshot and force him into a bigger defender if he drives, I've got to control both the guy guarding Lebron and the player I force him into because I can't count on the AI to help correctly in either situation.

    3. Passing seems to have some quirks this year as well. The things I've seen Jason Kidd do so far are just confusing. No more threading the needle, and there have been several occasions where he has messed up simple passes by either throwing them directly to an opponent or throwing them out of reach and guys go out of bounds. Remember that these are examples of Jason Kidd!!

I don't know, these are a few of my complaints, but I'm really worried that this years game is going to feel unplayable after awhile with changes made to the offense. I don't even want to know how frustrating it's going to be to be trying to play defense at the end of a close game set at 12 minute quarters lol. The real problem is that the improvements are good enough to make me not want to go back to 2k11 either!

I think you just paranoid......calm down, relax.......wait until tuesday. Play the full game a couple of days and THEN freak out if you need to.

i've only been playing the greatest mode so far and judging from that, shot percentages are high, but don't forget we have alot of great slider & tendency tweakers in the OS community that can adjust these things......other than that, this game is addicting

that's because the demo is not on Sim style and is on an easy difficulty...if you play on Sim style and on Allstar or Superstar difficulty, I don't think this will be a problem.

in the retail version you can set the defensive settings for each player so your teammates don't leave guys wide open.

wait until retail to judge this...they said passing was improved from the demo to retail...also, consider user error...

Sounds like renting the game might be your best option?

You based all your opinions off the demo? I know you can tell that the Demo is on Pro difficulty and everyone can make a shot on the demo. The demo is clearly targeted at the casual gamers to get them to buy the game, no plays do defensive assignment adustments. I have watched enough gameplay of 2K12 to know that the things you see on the demo are not what is final of the retail version.

Yeah, I hope you guys are right. The game has a ton of improvements that's for sure, and of course there are going to be flaws as well. The scary thing for me is that the flaws I've seen are potentially game breaking. Like I said, judging from the demo, I really fear any scenario where the game is close late in the fourth quarter.
