The Hop Back Jumper is no more :(

Removal of the Hop Step button (Triangle for PS3) and turning it into the Post Up wasn't a good idea. Now, to do a 'Hop Back Jumper', you have to use the sticks and if you use the sticks you're forced to do a Fadeaway and if you do not use the stick, and use the button, it will result in a PUMP FAKE.

This is the move I am talking about, I used to execute it all the time with Deron Williams in NBA 2K11. If someone can prove in a video that this can be done in NBA 2K12, then I want to see it.

The moves were Triangle + L3 away from the basket and Deron Williams would go into a step back move. And you had the option to either pump fake (to draw a foul) or shoot the ball. This move created amazing space. But now, we are stuck with the animation-driven Step Back Jumper and Hop Back that you cannot pump fake it has to be a jumper.

Just release the shot stick before you jump and you will be able to do that. Your not stuck in an animation.

I do but he still pump fakes - its like he can either pump fake or make the shot. I want to control my own pump fake. I just want him to step back, thats all, lol

that that y/triange stepback move was that too unrealistic and alittle over powered it had to be taken out. and the reason you would get so much space was because sometimes you would teleport back like 10 feet......

You can still do a stepback jumper that is all it is a stepback. When the whole nba has a stepback that is the same its fake. But with doing it on the sticks its signature

Im glad that it is no longer assigned to a button. It was heavily abused in 2k11 and made the game into the hopping easter bunny. The training camp mode shows you how to do step back jumpers.

I'm going to be honest... the past two 2Ks, I burnt people online with the hop back. On 2k10, with the Nuggets, and 2k11 with Manu Ginobili (mostly) and the Spurs.

Its removal from 2K12 doesn't bother me, though. I didn't abuse it on 2k10/2k11, but whenever I needed a basket from 3, I was pretty confident I could get one.

Reshape and refine your game, and you won't miss the hop back motion.

wow the game has been out what, 2 or 3 days, and already people are complaining about the BEST DAMN sports game ever made... you can actually do TWO kinds of step back jumpers this year, so just practice them in training camp and i guarantee in another 3 days youll have totally forgotten about 2k11's moves lol
