    How to rebuild my Spurs...

Starting out an association, I have to do something crafty with the San Antonio Spurs. The obvious player to ship off is Richard Jefferson, but with the lack of a certain rookie named Kawhi it's not the easiest thing to do. I am capable of allowing Tim Duncan to retire in colors other than black and silver. I would also trade Tony Parker if I knew I could get a decent point guard in return or in another trade.

So, what do you guys think?

You can try and get rid of Jefferson and Parker in order to get a not that amazing Pass first PG and an explosive SF.

I say whatever move you decide to make, keep Duncan. Seeing him in another jersey besides the Spurs just wouldn't feel right.

Trading Parker and Jefferson would be your best bet though.

I agree. I can deal with having a PG that's below All-Star caliber and anyone else is better than RJ. Duncan can still offer rebounding and some offense below the basket. Thanks for the input!

The lockout really needs to end, though. I need Kawhi Leonard.

Interestingly enough, Portland wouldn't take that trade during the draft for Andre Miller and Nicholas Batum.

I say just let Matt Bonner loose, bombs away from long distance, for some reason he's rated a 93 in 3 point shots

Don't trade Duncan. If you want realism, keep him on your roster.

Why do you think the Pacers would agree? I'm high on George, as are a lot of teams. This is also without draft picks, and we all know picks are a huge part of trades nowadays.

I would trade RJ and Parker before Duncan. However, I was trying to find a trade for Thaddeus Young and they offered him and Elton Brand for Duncan and Gary Neal. I was tempted. They offered the same for Parker and RJ with a pick. I don't want to get stuck with Neal running the point.

I would be comfortable with someone like a Hinrich or something running point, but I definitely want a young talent with athleticism at the three spot. San Antonio is just not giving me good trade bait. Does anyone think I should just trade off RJ for what I can get and run James Anderson at SF?

And what if you move Duncan to the center position, and try to get a nice offensive athletic power forward.

Also, Ramon Sessions is a very nice cheap passer.

Ok, I might be onto something. Three team trade:

                        Spurs get: Sessions, Thad Young
Cavs get: Jefferson, DeJuan Blair, Nocioni
                        76ers get: Varejao, Ryan Hollins

Is it fair? Everything is valid and seems alright, but the Cavs are not interested for some reason. I don't really want to force them to accept.

I would probably wait until the rookies are implimented because moving RJ for a role player makes a ton of sense with Leonard on the roster.

I would move RJ for a young big or crafty defender that can play both the two and the three. Perhaps someone like Jared Dudley or Dante Greene. Greene is probably rated pretty low and he's got size at 6'11'' SG and some decent athletic ability. He could grow into a good role player. Anderson is ample at the two and the three so I think you'll be fine at the depth chart between SG, SF and PF.

                              Other players that might work.

Dante Cunningham, Robin Lopez, Josh McRoberts, Leon Powe, Larry Sanders. The important thing is to get RJ's contract off the books.

Move Bonner for anything which is probably impossible because he's worthless.

Neal is good but a better backup PG might be worth considering.
