I cannot perform the shimmy jump hook shot for some reason. They always do a turnaround fadeaway. Its ruining the game b/c I'd give it to Bynum down low and he'll do some Dirk fadeaway when he can just do a hook. I read in the controls that the RS must be tilted forward when doing it, but it still doesnt work. Any one else have the same problem?

Re: Shimmy jump hook?
First of all you need to have the 2k cam second go to controls and set it absolute and not camera relative then go to training camp to master the moveComment

Re: Shimmy jump hook?
seems to get more consistent result after setting the shotstick settings from camera relative to absolute. on the side camera angle, if you are posting on the lower block, you would move shotstick TOWARDS the basket (up-left or up-right). if you are on the upper block, then (down-left or down-right). yes, you can do sky hook from about 15 feet away (anywhere inside the paint, or a few step outside of the outer hash mark on the baseline).
don't understand the logic, thought if shotstick settings is absolute, it should mean you should always press up/left or up/right no matter where you are on court and what camera angle you have.Comment

Re: Shimmy jump hook?
outside of the improvements to initiating the postup, i prefer 2K11's post game. in 2K12, there's too much stuff going on for it to be tied to just one control mechanism (the stick). it hurts the consistency imo. i definitely miss being able to do up & unders 100% with the button.
as for determining hooks vs turnaround jumpers, i think the controls could've used a more aggressive action, like a trigger. simply tilting the stick upward is a crapshootComment

Re: Shimmy jump hook?
go to controller settings and set both options that read camera relative to absolute. there for no matter what camera you use or where you are at on the court; up, down, left , and right will always be the same. then hold the LT or L2 and move the stick quickly left to right or reverse depending on what hand you want to shoot with. the last direction being the shot hand. also you can just do the same direction twice.Comment
