Grant Hill needs to make open midrange jump shots

I just got lit up by a cheeser who had Ray Allen score 40 points - all on 3-pointers - even after adjusting to play him tight & pressure shooters in the first quarter. He must have been 85% on 3-pointers.

Meanwhile, Grant Hill shoots under 50% on open midrange jumpers. I mean I got him serious separation on each attempt. Either he wasn't being guarded at all, or I got several feet between him and the defender.

One particular miss had an announcer saying that wasn't his range. Seriously? Other than driving in for layups, that's his game. I knew early I was going to lose because every shot my opponent put up was a 3-pointer, and nearly 100% of them went in. So I figured, win or lose, I'm going to try and emulate the real NBA/Suns. But if Grant Hill can't hit open 15-18 footers, than it's impossible to emulate the real thing.

    40 / 3 = a whole number?

40, 42, 39, 50 - either way - it's BS Allen can put up Kobe numbers on guarded threes while Grant Hill can't hit over 50% on unguarded midrange jumpers.

If Ray Allen can shoot over 75% on guarded threes, Grant Hill should be shooting 100% on completely unguarded midrange jumpers.

We would obviously need video proof to be able to determine whether or not all of you shots with Grant Hill were uncontested, plus you may have been holding the shot too long because of the lag. Allen's shot is so easy online you barely have to touch the stick.

We dont need proof. Grant Hill can have days where his shot doesnt fall and I have seen him light it up from mid so Hill isnt the problem. The problem is obviously Ray Ray.

Why weren't you using Vince Carter? Or Aaron Brooks? Or Steve Nash?? Or Brook Lopez??

Im just sayin... Grant is the garbage man... Vince is slowly taking that spot tho... But you complain that Grant aint hittin nothin??? What about the rest of your team? What about JASON RICHARDSON?!?!?!?!!??! I dont know about you, but after Grant didnt hit the first couple or whatever, I woulda looked elsewhere... thats just me tho...

I actually have Grant Hill in my Miami Heat association, and he's money if left open. He's even the league's leading 3PT % shooter through 9 games. You just have to run plays and get him open, and he's golden. Also, just because the shot timing feedback shows a good release (green), it doesn't mean the release is correct (stupid, but true). Just some tips.

Grant Hill's stats in 2k12 make him a much better 3P shooter (rated 84) than a mid-range shooter.

I don't know if this is accurate to RL, but the game is just doing what is appropriate to the stats.

Yeah, he's definitely not a 3-point specialist. He might take 1-2 a game and make them, but his game is midrange, and damn good at it too.
