    Diamond in the rough

Who is your favorite player not rated 84+... Also if you have a deep sleeper you wanna throw in feel free.

I really like E Gordon for his perimeter defense and solid scoring ability

My deep sleeper would probably be D. West dude is not rated very high but is an absolute dynamo on offense.

Sleepers are "Specialists" imo.. for example, check out "Toney Douglas" of the Knicks

he doesn't have a high OVR, only in the 70s, but he is a deadly shooter and would probably become a 3pt assassin with just 2 training camps invested in "Perimeter Shooting"

also a favorite of mine is George Hill, another PG who isn't that highly rated OVR but his game is solid all around and is yet another marksman

there's a ginger in Houston who is also deadly from the arc, Budinger? something..

so yeah, there's good players out there you just gotta know what to look for and how they fit in your system

Jared Dudley, Give me any sort of room and I'll knock down a 3.

I also like Demar Derozan. Dude is young and he is a highflyer and a good finisher inside

I think Nick Young is only a 73 or so... and is an absolute beast from midrange and downtown.

J.R. Smith is that dude on offense. His ability to shoot on the fly and drive is quite masterful. Aaron Afflalo is another guy I keep in the pocket for his tenacious defense, dude is like the next bruce bowen. But my long time fav has to be Jianlian Yi, shooting over the top with that pretty rainbow to spread the defense once moved to the 4. Can also be decent at the 5 if added strength to his game

I have personal experience with Wesley Johnson, I don't think his OVR ever becomes higher than 75? but in just 1 or 2 years he becomes a "3" pt assassin, one of those players with the icons

Actually, due to the ridiculously jacked up 3pt ratings this year, he has that out of the box. As do about 7 other players on the Wolves.

My best "diamond in the rough" guy is Jerryd Bayless. You can use him similar to Rose, Westbrook, Wall, etc. Ultra quick, amazing handle, 93 layup rating, sneaky dunker, and a great shooter from mid and 3.

It's not surprising, he matches up with Rose and Wall about as well as any PG in the league in real life. He's going to have a BIG season for Toronto next year, you can quote me on that!

does he? I don't know I don't use the Wolves, I got Wesley from a trade and then traded him away, lol

ironically I also could've made a play for Bayless, but I had a hunch he is a young gun of the Raptors irl so I left him there

as far as a 84 and below player... I gotta roll with Martell Webster and Ray Allen.
Those guys are ridiculous when they shoot from anywhere.

and for my DEEP Sleeper...and I mean Deep...is Hasheem Thabeet. Absolute magician on the offensive glass , and you can't shoot over him. He is underrated in real life too. Now that I think of it... I'm gonna start a Creating a Legend with my man Hasheem. Hahaa!

Love Jeff Green. I think he's rated a 74. He can shoot, play in the post and rebound.

I honestly think 84 is too high.. 77 and below imo and that's a "diamond in the rough"

84 is almost star level really..

                          Re: Diamond in the rough

I also wouldn't really consider 84 or below "in the rough". Maybe 75 and below would be more appropriate, the "diamonds" you can steal in a draft for example.

One of the most under rated bigs is Amir Johnson. Great mid range, big time shot blocker, always going for putbacks and his inside shot rating is like 95. Fellow Raptors fans can attest to that being accurate too, whenever he gets around the basket he's always able to put up a soft floater that will swish more often than not. He's one of the league leaders in efficiency.

One area 2k can improve is differentiating big athleticism next year. They've got Amare and Dwight down, but guys like Amir Johnson and Darrell Arthur aren't exactly captured accurately. Amir takes off from half way to the FT line more often than not.

same guy it was last year...arron afflalo. Great D and shoots well from 3 and reliable at the FT line.

My sleeper Player is no doubt Landry Fields of the New York Knicks, He can shoot from anywhere on the court and he can finish nicely in traffic.
