    Trouble with dribble penetration

One on my favorite things to do in 2K11 was to get a good ballhandler and take it to the rim regularly. However, in NBA 2K12, That is something I just CANNOT Do.

No matter the Sizups, Spins, Crossovers, I can't get past my guy.

I went in to MJ's Legendary Game thinking... Wow, If I can't get past Mugsy Bouges.... I need to get some help. and sure enough. Michael Jordan Isolation. Stopped at every turn by the 5'3 PG.

Anything anyone has to tell me about this would be much appreciated

What do try and do the most? Are you chainin any of your size ups together? Its more about gettin your defender off balance and the explodin out of the size up moves at the right time. Each size up has tons of moves within each direction. You can spin, cross and go behind the back out of any size up also. The best way to learn is to take one guy and practice, practice, practice until you know every move your pullin off from any direction.

What I've learned is to lay off the turbo sometimes you can just casually drive pass them

Turbo triggers something to initiate bumping...

I chain together loads of moves . I watch every step of the guy guarding me. When I try to explode... No... Stopped dead in my tracks.

True that. Seems the more i press turbo the more i get sucked in to my defender.I use to always press turbo when explodin out of a size up but its seems like they work 10x better without it.

Well It looks like i'm just going to have to live with the fact that this game is impossibly hard for me and I'm just going to have to learn to play it or sell it.

Hows your spacing?Im sure you know this means alot also. The size up back move with a quick cross right in the middle of your takeoff works pretty well from time to time.Ive noticed the CPU will catch on to what im doin to if i get to predictable its most def a cat and mouse game.If i burn my man once he wont let me get him on that move again.Man i love this game....

Dont give up bro i know it can be frustrating as hell at times but it really is a great game.Try and practice your moves in the "Post Play" section in practice mode. You have a defender on you and you can always get the ball right back if you mess up.

I do to... But it's really not as enjoyable when you lose every game by 30.

It's not cheap things either. Just no skill.

Usually my spacing is good, just whenever I explode anywhere the defender is right in front of me. at the end of the day no amount of advice will help... It's all about me not playing so terribly.
                  Thanks though

I have no problem breaking down the D , You need to keep learning how to play. The game has only been out couple of weeks..

                      Okay Quick update...
I just found out how to get past your man, what you guys originally said was correct TEN FOLD.
It is impossible to get around your man while holding RT...That's what my problem was, went to post play with D-rose against Mario Chalmers... Found out the timing between when to Explode with the RT and when to release it so you don't get sucked in...
Thanks a lot guys. This game just got a lot better for me

Now to go to work in the post...

What I have found is that the on ball defense effectiveness against the CPU this year is greater than last years game. It is turning average and below defenders into great defenders consistently. In 2k11 you get the defender going one way with momentum easier. It is harder to get the defense momentum off balance in this year with the sizeups. It does become a little unrealistic when you see MJ can't get to the lane and Mugsy Boges is stopping him. I will say this though, you can get to the hole but you need to lay off the turbo and you can get to the hole without using isomotion not every time but you can. Playing against another human the sizeups work very differently because well a human doesn't know which way you will go for most of your moves. So you have options you can lower the on ball defense slider or live with the fact that you can only get to the hole as much as you would like.

Yeah it was alot easier to get by your defender in 11 really to easy.If you would stand still on the wing and barely move your player to one direction the defender would slide real quick and followed with a cross you could put him on the ground or make him stumble 7/10 times and almost guarantee a bucket.

It's most def harder to get the cpu on its toes this year but at the same time there is alot more moves and you can branch out of any animation makin combos unlimited. You can even branch out of the dribble pull ups and more times then none the cpu will jump leavin you a clear lane or a quick pull up jumpshot.Chain the pullups with the size ups(D.Rose is esp nasty doin this)and you can easily get into the lane.It a sim game so your not gonna be able to get to the rim at will but they definitley give you the tools to attack when the time is right
