How do I prevent SG and PG from guarding centers in the post. I come down to play defense and Eric Gordon is guarding Dwight Howard in the post, when i have him assigned to guard the SG.

Miss matches happen. The IA runs a lot of play and there is a lot of offball screens. You can manually replace your SG though. -

Mismatches do happen, but I think this is a bigger problem. I've been playing the Stockton legends game (98 Jazz vs. 98 Lakers) and multiple times per game as the Lakers are establishing their half-court offense, I'll look over and sure enough, Jeff Hornacek will be guarding Shaq down on the low block, and Greg Ostertag will be out on the perimeter somewhere. This isn't the result of any situation where those two would have had to switch, insofar as I can tell. I think it may have something to do with the defensive settings, but I'm not sure.Comment

It cant be completely avoided, but go and manually adjust your defensive settings, to lessen the recurrence ... dont let anything in auto and adjust accordingly to each offensive threat ... auto gives the power to the AI to make switchs on screens, leave assigments, double team, shade, etc ... without any imput of you.Comment
