Does the CPU ever miss when beating the shot clock???

The CPU literally shoots 90% when the shot clock gets down below 5 seconds. Either there's a defensive breakdown at the last second (for no reason because the ball-handler is usually stationary), or the CPU hits a contested shot.

I'm almost certain the CPU receives a ratings boost in this situation (possibly caused by clutch). Either way, it's damn annoying knowing that you can't do anything in My Player because your AI teammates always get burned.

Yeah, I must need to turn my clutch down also. Just about every game I play against the CPU it always hits a buzzer beater or when the shot clock gets below 5 there shot goes in. I have the clutch at 34, I didn't want to turn it down to much, because I still wanted the star players to perform well in pressure situations but damn, those buzzer beaters are anoying.

90% is an overexaggeration I am sure, but 2K has history of that. I suggest turning clutch down to 5 or completely off.

I decreased the clutch rating of the cpu to 10 and it solved it for me....

Clutch factor is the first thing I turn off.

Yeah but it's a double edge sword, i personally like to have clutch effect some of my players. And it doesn't feel right when you use a team with a player that's known for being clutch(i use the lakers).

The only time the CPU had a chance to hit a game winner I played tight defense and they missed....

It's hilarious/annoying to play 23 seconds of great defense only to have Tyrus Thomas bank in a 20 foot leaner...

Or Marcin Gortat swish a turnaround J from the baseline.

Haven't come across this problem too much.It could be worst though. Players could be hitting spin around 3pt shots on you lol. It funny how it seem like everyone has like a different issue with each copy of the game. Like each copy has it own problems

Try having the likes of Marreese Speights knock down jumpers as the shot clock runs down like seriously. . . why does the cpu continue to put the ball in the hands of such players. In the NBA these players would not have the ball in such situations period.

But for the most part if your able to contest the shot there's a strong chance it won't go in. I enjoy playing on-ball defense. The best part isn't just contesting shots but registering shot clock violations

I also wish the cpu would take shots early in the shot clock if open looks are available. Is that to much to ask

This is one of the main reasons why I'm having trouble playing against the cpu. I just get so annoyed with the way they play offense and then get bailed out by somehow hitting a contested 18-foot banker. I move the ball around beautifully, work myself a wide-open look, and my guy bricks it. I hate the fact that I'm executing much better than the cpu on the offensive end, but it isn't reflecting in shooting percentages or on the scoreboard.

The sad thing is, if the cpu wasn't playing with these advantages, they'd get killed every time - so I'm actually not sure which is worse.

And BTW, what is with the long bank-shots? Rarely do you even see an NBA player use the backboard anymore, let alone from 18-feet out.
